OK, we have enough to begin. I will now set up three tourneys (I already had a false start, sorry). The groups have been divided in a blind random manner. The top 2 from each group of 6 will form the new Group A, the middle 2 from each group will form Group B and the last 2 finalists from each will be Group C. This will make up season 2, along with new groups formed by anyone else who expresses interest on this thread.

you can have a deadline to players sign in, than invite the next one the list

or have one last bigger group with quicker autoboot setthing

Also, if enough people show more interest, you could just make another group starting at the bottom.

Thanks for these suggestions they are helpful. So far my thinking is along the lines of BlueMonkey's. Hopefully the season won't take too long and I am hoping there will be enough new entrants to add a Group D (or maybe more than that) to season 2. Orange will be at the top of that list.

The best of D would then be promoted to C for Season 3 and be replaced by the losers of C. The climb for newcomers might get longer, but that is part of the fun. New superstars will rocket up the charts to the relief of the average players in the lower groups.

The more people that want to join this, the better it will work. Everyone will eventually find their level of competition and can shoot for climbing up to that next Group. Eventually, if the numbers warrant and there are several groups, we could enlarge the A group to add to the intrigue of the elite round robins.
