Two responses to that: First off, why be against eating dog meat but not give a crap about cows and pigs? Second, you shouldn't try to stop everyone from eating mean because some people literally need it. Not they're addicted to it, they actually can't live without it.
@goodgame: dogs and cows/pigs belong to different class, say what you wanna say, one is more equal than another, that's how the society works. The second point is valid but is certainly not the case that was happening in china when they ate dog meat for pleasure. The first sentence would tend to dangerous conclusions though, what about endangered animal or even human meat then ? p.s. no animal activist, i just send the bbc link for the memes but might as well respond to your response seriously since you ask it in than manner as well, thx
@goodgame: I'd agree with you on the beans, but then we'd both be fools. Chili is a hearty dish, and at the heart of it is the meat. Everything in it- the onions, the spices, everything- exists solely to complement and highlight the ground beef.
Beans are usurpers. They do not belong. Among all the ingredients, they're the only ones that try (pathetically) to steal the show, like that kid in middle school who just couldn't be satisfied when cast as Tree #3 and tried to steal lines. Beans are the stupid trumpet player that ruins a well-composed orchestral piece by trying to add their own crap music to it.
I don't usually get political on here, but if you put beans in chili you are part of what's wrong with America.
@knight, comparing beans in chili to social standing? XD. People will put beans in chili if they want, don't make a big deal about it. Just saying you don't like beans in chili, go ahead, but this is opinion. There's nothing wrong with me or anyone else liking beans in chili.
Wait, vegan cheese?! People who force others to be vegan, there is absolutely nothing wrong with dairy products. Cows don't exactly suffer when they're milked.
I guess the logic is that the dairy industry profits off the exploitation of other living creatures obviously w/o their consent. There's also the idea that dairy is bad for human consumption, although I've never seen credible and consistent data for that. XD
Vegans also avoid honey and basically any animal derived products are forbidden on a true vegan diet, which expands far beyond just food.
