I won't watch Euro 2012 due the dogs extermination which Ukrain acted in the past mothes.

I think Germany.

Yes, Spain won the last Euros and World Cup but they have a couple of important players in Puyol and Villa out injured and are of course four years older than when they won the first of their aforementioned recent crowns.

Germany are a young, vibrant side who showed enough in the World Cup to suggest that now, with the additional two years playing together, they could well be the team to beat. I think they might be reaching their peak just as Spain are a little bit past theirs, although still a fantastic team of course.

Then there is also the fact that Germany more often than not do well at big tournaments. They know how to reach the latter stages with poor teams... with the team they can boast now, I think they should be mightily disappointed if they don't win the thing.

Although I think Germany should and will win it, I wouldn't write off Spain or The Netherlands.

Russia and France could be dark horses to make the semis or even the final.

England and Italy are probably the biggest names that I'm expecting the least from. I don't give them much chance at all.

The rest - Poland, Ukraine, Greece, Denmark, Sweden, Croatia, Czech Republic, Republic of Ireland and Portugal will hopefully provide some good drama and entertainment but I don't see them realistically challenging for the trophy.

No offense to anyone whose country's team I have commented on of course. I am English and have written off our chances while saying Germany will win it. If anyone is offended, it should be me. :)

Well in my View i think Spain wont win it They have won everything so the hunger for the tittle is gone but Germany are dying to win it so does netherlands and all of them countries but i think either the Netherlands or the Germans England wont win cuz they wont change there (philosfify) sorry for spelling in brackets Like the italians when evr they score a goal they defend they were awarded for there pihilosfy but england keep changing and thats causing confusion i hope ENGLAND will have a manager that can fix there probs cuz they do have good players and great skillful players!

I honestly don't think the Netherlands will win :( It has played a couple of really bad games lately, including a 1-2 loss from Bulgaria :,(
I do think we'll make it to the semifinals, but I guess I thought the same two years ago :)
But the best possible final would be NL-Germany, because that would be almost exactly the same as [34 years ago](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1974_FIFA_World_Cup_Final), still a trauma to many Dutchmen.

If I were to bet a winner, I think it would be easier to pick who won't win.

Well, I'm from Poland so I can say it won't be Poland no matter how much I'd like it. Anyway I think that group matches in Germany/Portugal/Netherlands group will give us a better view on where they stand., although on last Euro Netherlands had the most brilliant run through group phase only to lose to Russia later (the difference in their level of play in different phases was very weird...). Germany also was not performing that well in recent friendly games, thus Spain remains the favourite to claim the title...

Yeah, the group B is truly a pain in the ass for everybody in that group.

BTW. I don't think Spain will get the title, see what happened with Barcelona players, they won everything they could won and now they're lacking motivation.

Just so long as we won't end up in a game together... I'm still thoroughly ashamed by our players' need to do a 90-minute re-enactment of the [Eighty Years' War](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eighty_Years%27_War). :s Thank god they at least got the outcome wrong; I wouldn't want our first WC victory to forever be on the books as *that* disgraceful excuse for a sports game (and no, I don't care about Cruijff's "Soccer is War", since I don't believe for one second he meant it literally).

I'm going to go **WAY** out on a limb here and choose Croatia. Not because I'm a Spurs fan, (because actually I'm getting kind of pissed about Modric's attitude lately) but because I actually think they have a great shot at winning it. Of course Spain and the Netherlands will do well (I believe England will fail miserably) but I think Croatia's offence is going to be surprisingly good, and it will help them beat some tough teams that aren't going to be expecting a fight. That's my take. Croatia.

Spain will have an issue offensively. I still think they're favorites to win, but without Villa, they lack a true high class attacker. Sure, Llorente and Pedro are good, but not good enough. Unless Torres decides that's it's time to come back to playing soccer and not whatever elementary school sport he's been playing for the past 2 years, Spain will have offensive issues. Not to mention Puyol is difficult to replace in the back.

Although my money is still on Spain, I think the toughest opposition they will face will be Germany. Through Bayern, the German backline proved itself a significant force, having only conceded something like 22 goals in the league. With the likes of Schweinsteiger, Muller, Ozil, Kroos, etc. controlling the middle as well as the counter attack, germany will be a deadly force. Add Gomez, who basically puts in whatever ball is given to him within the box, as well as Klose and Podolski, and with Neuer in goal you have a powerhouse.
