@all: i request all of you to make forums a better place.

if you are against / not interested in the topic the thread maker is discussing then
simply ignore that thread and let it die in peace .
at least this way thread makers can assure that nobody is interested in the topic they picked up .
but i do not think that making a new clan post/ making clan chat post is an offence untill it get converted into something like pig shit ultimately , its in hand of fizzer ., if fizzer would see that a thread is becoming a trolling thread he gonna lock it / delete it .

i would like to see this happen

but some pointless threads (i won't mention any specifically) define things which hardly anybody care about and have nothing to do with warlight. i also don't like it when threads are trolled out of existence, and when posters look for faults (unless it is constructive criticism)

"posters look for faults"

that is the biggest problem thread makers are facing on warlight forums.

If they didn't want attention, whether it be bad or good attention, they wouldn't of posted in the first place. I will express my feelings to a topic I deem to be completely idiotic or a ripoff of another player's work. If you have a problem with this, simply don't post something that hits either of those criteria and you will not see me replying to your thread in a bad/mocking manner.

@"if they didn't want attention, whether it be bad or good attention, they wouldn't of posted in the first place."

you mean "every one who post in first place do so for attention" , well they do so to

1.create a separate area to discuss about a particular thing .
OR
2.spread up a news to aware people about it . [warlight forums is a cool place to spread warlight related news]

====

@I will express my feelings to a topic I deem to be completely idiotic or a ripoff of
another player's work:

when it is about #1 , the thread topic is set for discussion , hence you have full rights to discuss that matter , keeping warlight rules and regulations in mind .

when it is about #2 , you should ignore it if that news does not bother you , you will not get paid to reply against that news + you can not change mind of other people who loved that news .
still if you reply to the thread that does not bother you then you can official call yourself a troll .

i just created only 1 thread related to my clan ;
here it is http://warlight.net/Forum/Thread.aspx?ThreadID=4050 .

i can not stop other people, if they would be considered doing spamming then i know fizzer gonna take appropriate action .

"Creating a separate area for discussing things" = Drawing attention to a separate area

"Spread news" = Drawing attention to new things

You've proven my point entirely. You automatically assume that drawing attention is bad. It's not, it's just the most descriptive way to describe why people post.

I agree, if you're posting to a topic that doesn't interest you for the sole reason to attack the topic owner, or anyone else posting, you are trolling. I just don't see exactly why you're complaining. I have yet to see a topic flooded by trolls. I've seen topics get a lot of bad criticism, but like I said, it fit the criteria of being idiotic, or being a ripoff of another's work. Sometimes both, skunk's Ewupa Cup topic is a good example of what I'm talking about.

What both Ska and I find interesting is that you posted this, after you posted a topic about your clan, and your founder posted 2 topics of your clan. I find that only 1 topic is really required and that the other 2 are just spam/idiotic. Trust me, the entirety of Warlight is very interested that you've made a clan, just not interested enough to see 3 topics about it.

So, I myself find it hypocritical of you to criticize others for criticizing others. Especially when you ask us to not criticize you, even if we're not trolling. :)

Have a nice day.

i would just prefer to say :

@x :first of all you can see the thread topic without opening it , then why did you worked so hard to reply on this thread if you are actually not interested over here .

whoever is not interested in topic i created, is going to get ignored by me.

This is a forum, people have just as much right to reply to a thread as you have of making it. Funny thing is, saying "do not reply here if you disagree" is a very good way to get replies from people who disagree with you. The fact that you still say it makes you incredibly naive or a troll.
Also, I expect people will be able to figure out nobody is interested in their topic if everyone literally tells them so...

but i do not think that making a new clan post/ making clan chat post is an offence untill it get converted into something like pig shit ultimately , its in hand of fizzer ., if fizzer would see that a thread is becoming a trolling thread he gonna lock it / delete it .

It's not an offence until Fizzer punishes you...!? I bet driving through a red traffic light is okay if no police officer sees you?
If Fizzer locks or deletes your thread you didn't mess up a little, you messed up a lot. I'm quite sure he has better things to do than patrol the WL forum 24/7 and get rid of all pointless threads. I expect him to only do something about it once the situation gets really, really bad.

If we would do things your way (only reply if you agree) each thread would only have one useful post (the first one), all others would only be "I agree", "Nicely said", "Good point!!!111" and (no offence Risk ;) ) "+1".
A forum is, by definition, a place for discussion. I agree it is best to keep it civilized, but only being allowed to agree is ridiculous; it would break the entire point of having a forum in the first place.

Something tells me you're going to ignore me too... Ah well, that cannot be helped. I do propose you have three choices:
  • Grow up; not everyone agrees with you, that's life, deal with it [recommended solution]
  • Ignore everyone as soon as they ever disagree with you..., you'll soon be ignoring every single person you've ever met [not really recommended, that gets lonely]
  • Invent cloning and make someone who always completely agrees with you [not recommended either; this is likely to get very boring (and probably annoying) really fast, it's also insanely difficult]

As much as I hate to agree with Vostro, he brings up a valid concern.

Plenty of clan threads (before this recent influx of idiotic ones being formed) were spammed by people disagreeing with the very idea of clans.. This would happen in every single thread that even remotely mentioned clans, and these poor people trying to talk about their clan were getting swamped in crap because people had opinions on clans in general.

It´s ugly and annoying also, to see some clearly very intelligent people bullying children just looking to have fun and express their ideas. Rather than ignoring it, they will pick at every little thing untill they´ve utterly destroyed the morale of the poster. Yes, they don´t have your intellect, and perhaps it is a bad idea, but no, they don´t deserve for you to attack them over it repeatedly it untill they roll over and admit your dominance.

The forum, as it is now, is horrible. It seems to the idle onlooker that this community is so full of pent up hate and anger that they take the first opportunity to jump on anything they see as not up to their standards and rip it to shreds..

Please forgive me the arrogance of assuming I'm one of those "very intelligent people".

I'm not sure about the exact moment at which it happened, but somewhere along the line, clans became incredibly cool; all of a sudden everyone wanted their own clan. So far, so good, but I think you're defeating the purpose if you just accept everyone in your new clan (instead of limiting it to (IRL) friends or players above a certain skill level or some other manageable group).
That is fine in and of itself, but a lot of these are formed by people who seem to lack basic planning and leadership skills. Which means that every time someone thinks "oeh, I want a clan of my own", up springs a new thread. Then after thinking about it for ten minutes, they change their mind about some detail of the plan, abandon the old thread and create a new one (and then a few more).
Even if they manage to get it off the ground to begin with, after a while, that lack of leadership skill has a good chance of killing the clan. So far I've only seen one clan go up in smoke in a publicly viewable shouting match (I'm deliberately not using names, but you know which one I refer to), but more episodes like that are inevitable if we continue like this.

Besides, that wasn't even what I was talking about; I only took issue with his attempt to censor people. If he'd just gone with "please keep this constructive" instead of "don't you dare post if you think this is a bad idea" that (to me) would've already made a big difference.

Please keep in mind it's very, very difficult to judge who you're talking to. It is especially difficult to tell the difference between someone who is a "grown up" who simply doesn't speak English all that well, or an English kid. That line in my previous post about "grow up" was aimed at someone who is actually already an adult. However, I do have to admit I'm only now even considering the possibility Vostro is in fact a child (in which case that statement was indeed needlessly rude).

Don't you think it's odd that on the one hand you're coming to Vostro's defence, yet on the other you use the phrase "Plenty of clan threads (before this recent influx of idiotic ones being formed)"...?

What Francisco is saying, is that Vostro and other people like him seem like kids. By attacking them as we do, we seem like bullies, and at the end of the day their age is still unknown. Perhaps, we do need to lighten up a bit. Vostro does have a good point, we COULD just simply ignore the topic and let it go away. Before you say I'm being hypocritical let me make it clear.

I'm NOT defending Vostro for his clan topics or deciding to co-lead a clan whilst not being skilled enough to successfully do so.

I AM defending Vostro because he's right on the point that: Our forum looks to be bullying people who seem like kids.

So let's find a better solution than voicing our disagreements rudely against people who can't aptly defend themselves. I know that most of us are aggravated by people like skunk who steal people's ideas and keep spamming their own topic, and by people who are not skilled enough to start a clan who start one anyways.

Let's voice our complaint, and just stop beating them. Let the pigs wallow in their own crap. Which is what I shall do henceforth. And I apologize if I myself seem to act in the wrong sometimes ^^.

1. vostro asking to make the forum a better place when his clan has made multiple posts about the same topic. (spam)

2. vostro asking to make the forum a better place whnen he just said "pig sh*t", when bad language is not tolerated in Warlight. (swearing)

3. vostro admits his clan's threads are a place for troling when he says that "if fizzer would see that a thread is becoming a trolling thread he gonna lock it / delete it." Since many of his clan threads are now locked, it thus means vostro agrees his clan threads are for trolling.
