Pink: I've won above 90% of my 1x1 games when I play my preferred settings (see below). Winning above 75% overall in 1x1 is easy if you play anyone who wants to play. My win percentage has been steadily dropping as I play most of my games now against the strongest players and let them pick the settings (most of the time).

excuse for me just beating you lol? na im just joking i like those settings except i do like a little bit of luck (10-30%) since in real battles not everything goes to plan and because if you go down without luck, its literally almost impossible to come back. and i like abandon cards since they add another strategy element to the game. but propose me a new game with whatever settings you want, although youre used to settings so youll prob have slight advantage.

I'll send you a challenge. I've also set-up a couple of tournaments with those settings (one with luck at 0% and the other at 24%) and have done pretty well in them. I'll invite you to the next one. As you say, when you know the settings well it's easier, but those are pretty much default, so most players know them.
I find the wastelands games to be decided in the first 4 moves far more often than not. Eliminating starting spot options leads people to pick the same spots too often. I also prefer 4 picks to 3 for the same reason.
