I find your style of play and strategy uninspired, boring, unimaginative and lame - but it is what it is. I'm not suggesting you make different picks. What I'm suggesting is that you improve your play once your counter picks fail - as they did against piggy.
Just as we need to come up with a counter-counter picking strategy, you need to come up with a counter-counter-counter picking strategy for when your counter picks fail. If that strategy involves making a bunch of wasted attacks in turns 4, 5, 6, 7 etc - looking for your opponent, while your bonus stays tiny, you're never going to win. At some point, you need to say 'ok, counter picks failed, time for plan B' and give yourself a chance to win the game another way.
