I went into Hong Kong because I was afraid dead piggy went for the Indo, Australia combo and was going to sneak attack me. When i first saw the picks, i decided to go for India and Middle east because it isn't easily countered and Iran would also provide me a quick counter route to the northern regions as I expected piggy to go for scandanvaia and west russia

i have a unique style of playing, i agree. I usually try to know where my opponent is and then crush him rather then drag it out and wait for him. I win 90% of the time because of my counterpicks leading to the fight being held in my opponent's territory. But it usually works :)

I know, thats exactly what I said. What I'm telling you is that, unless you are playing somebody like yourself whose soul strategy is the sneak attack - you should quit worrying about that so much and focus on increasing your bonus.

Then maybe when you make it to turn 4 without winning by your own sneak attacks, your win % will be greater than the 15% or whatever it currently is (against good players)

I find your style of play and strategy uninspired, boring, unimaginative and lame - but it is what it is. I'm not suggesting you make different picks. What I'm suggesting is that you improve your play once your counter picks fail - as they did against piggy.

Just as we need to come up with a counter-counter picking strategy, you need to come up with a counter-counter-counter picking strategy for when your counter picks fail. If that strategy involves making a bunch of wasted attacks in turns 4, 5, 6, 7 etc - looking for your opponent, while your bonus stays tiny, you're never going to win. At some point, you need to say 'ok, counter picks failed, time for plan B' and give yourself a chance to win the game another way.

This is what I meant when I told you I would beat you every time I made it to turn 3 w/out you sneak attacking me. Not only are you in a weak position by that time, you don't know how to plan the expansion race game - nor do you even try. You'll simply never win against good players in that scenario.

Make him prove that he can play good normal too. I suspect he'll have to put in a lot of practice first. But he'll come out a better player for it.

Counterwussing is a bit of a gamble. It's fun when it works, though.
