NOTE: We're not talking about collusion anymore - we've cleared that up. Masters plays what they want, and MH does their best to avoid them.
Isn't it for pretty much every player true that the template choice is a function with the 2 input parameters of "template enjoyment" and "perceived win chance on that template". The problem with the template enjoyment parameter here is that nobody really enjoys getting destroyed frequently so if you have a low perceived win chance, you will also not enjoy that template in CW. For this reason it probably boils down to that players mostly choose the template where they have the highest perceived win chance while maybe avoiding some extreme templates like a 2 minute autoboot local deployment game on a relatively big map. This is not only true for my clan. Some non bomb connoisseurs from the Master clan showed up in our bomb template last season, they got the result according to their lack of understanding of that template and soon moved on to their previous templates where they were used to getting good results.
Interestingly the question how much your game contributes to your clans CW success is not necessarily linked with your own success on a specific template. The reason is that if you choose a certain template, you influence your clanmates matchups a) during that timeslot by potentially pushing them to a weaker clan and thus likely weaker opponent and b) also for future timeslots.
a) is true for every clan while b) is not necessarily true for every clan to the same extent. Pretty much every player only cares for his own success rate btw and does not understand that this does not necessarily translates to his clans success.
In general Masters would always prefer to play against MHunters than Pythons or other good players but that's not much of an issue for me personally
What really bothers me is when we queue for 2v2 template along with 2 Pythons and 2 MHunters, the system gives the worst rated clan a free win and 2 points, while the better clans have to fight for 2 points.
Isn't it just better to give pythons the free win since they're worse in terms of CW points? Sure MHunters are not close to Masters for it to be an equal matchup but they still win many 2v2s against us, its not that bad of a matchup
The concept of free win is something I thoroughly dislike but if you have to do it still then it can be implemented a lot better than what it is now
