I like when I act seriously to be honest. In the past, I was very talented at it. It boosts your confidence. You feel your balls heavier than before. Last but not least, being a serious guy may help you keep a low profile when you has to do so.

@καλλιστηι first of all, from what perspective do you consider these stats a case of Simpson's paradox? But remember that Covid is the perfect topic for media, demagogues, politicians of any ideology and opportunists.

It's not a topic. And you have it backward. Every media circus event limits the scope of "the conversation". There are less opportunities to say anything now.

It's against their interests to reveal the truth or at least solve the problem fast. In times of crisis, people in power may achieve a radical increase in their own party/ideology support. On the other hand, people who would never be voted/supported, can take the opportunity and present themselves as Deus ex machina.

A real radical would say there isn't a crisis. Everyone screaming their head off that the sky is falling down will be unmasked as servants of corruption.

We live in 2021, the age of information, when with 3 clicks away (browser -> google prompt -> search) you can find millions or billions of scientific papers for free. 3.870.000.000 results for "covid 19" for me. But some people insist to believe random Facebook posts or random priests and demagogues.

We live in an age that consists of a massive amount of un-processible data that is being collected by AIs and manipulated by algorithms. That's an age IN WHICH there is information but no knowledge or perspective. If the internet is such a great place to learn, why are so many links broken? The internet is pretty much dead. Most of the stuff is inaccessible.

How are you doing over there? (refers to your city or the hellenistic community in general) Did covid and debt ruin your economy or sth?

State debt is just but a number if the state has positive income.


About COVID. the biggest problem are non vaccinated people. they did at huge numbers every day creating problems do the public healthcare system.

Last years, we had some major lockdowns. You had to sent an SMS to a government number or be allowed to leave your house. lol.

So, generally we are doing ok. We are trying to find our steps back. Our populist politicians who care only until the next election and have no plan for the deep future are a major problem. But I guess we will do find for the next years.

Speaking of how you are doing, how much trouble did the forest fires give? (Or maybe still give...)

hmm not a lot for the majority of the people. But I guess that villages in that areas may have a big problem. because the absent of trees creates floods and rock falling.

Generally speaking, I do not consider trolls or toxic people or edgy kids annoying. They are useful gears of the world. I believe that in our world there are mechanisms. And people tend to get attached to a mechanism, which can be an ideology/religion/whatever, and they are blind as fuck. Trolls are the kind of people that defy these mechanisms. They defy their existence and they act randomly without respecting rules and norms. That way they put that pressure on institutions, people, parties, even warzone mods and players to make their own mechanism more appealing. They make all these people become better.
