There are a number of valid strategies. Personally I picked up an insane alloy values and would want a legendary at minimum.

Pairing time warp with active artifacts is probably a valid strategy as well, but you will probably want to get the alloy values advancement early if you do that.

Any of Alloy Values, Supercharge Army Camp, Triple Strike, Time Warp, Army Cache Boost are good options for Legendary (or Insane).

AV is imho one of the safest picks. You can't go wrong with it, it will always help your game. Money solves most WZI problems. Also lowest effort of the bunch. When you're ready to profit/sell, throw the artifact in, and don't worry about it the rest of the time.

SAC is also a good pick, b/c it minimally helps the start of each level, but can also be a boost mid-game, but it really requires you to use FCs wisely, but the benefit in doing so is huge, so it's worth it imho. It's not actually the benefit from the 20x army camps that this is good for (mediocre at best imo) but the impact of the FCs to start a level or to reinvigorate a stalled position mid-level to get things moving again, often to set up for a good TS usage. Requires a bit of effort to acquire more army camps and upgrade them to get the best benefit from this, b/c remember the benefit is from the caches which has inputs from all army camps including Supercamp, not just the SAC'd 20x army camp. More camps = better, by quite a bit. Which is why it's still useful mid-level.

TS @ Leg 160% or higher is also imho strong b/c it gives you units & territories at the same time. If you're stuck, throw down a TS on the largest territory available. If no big one is available, use your armies to get to one, then reap the rewards. This is not very useful early level, but gets super useful mid and late level.

AcacheB is good b/c army caches are one of the biggest army contributors at the end of the level as per the listed stats, so getting +32% (Legendary) is obviously great. Also a low effort artifact, just pop it in when capturing an army cache, but can be tedious to continually swap in/out.

Picking Cache Boost is surprising. Army Cache Boost makes perfect sense though, a solid choice.

May be here just use the picture to show that he can carry 9 artifacts, not really show which artifacts he actually carry. For one, it is really strange to carry 2 same artifacts while leaving other, whichever they are.

[Edit] But the other un-selected are all poor. I am confused.

[Edit2] The only explanation I can think of is: all three epics are not from digging but from Hardened level (TS) and battle (the other two). So no digging this time, except those 3 poors.

Which artifact that here didn't pick do you think shall have a priority over Cache Boost then?

Either Quad Strike or Inspire Mercs.

I'm onboard with SAC, AcampB (for SAC+FC), TS, HB, AcacheB, AV, TW.

Cache Boost just isn't a big enough benefit to choose over QS or IM. Or even Money Cache Boost or Resource Cache Boost as these are material on the new levels. Not so much Huruey through HEH, but certainly Regio through Hex.

And with SAC, TS, QS, IM, it's likely that 3 and sometimes all 4 artifacts will be on cooldown at any given time. Certainly minimally 2. As long as you're planning well, there should always be either a large merc camp to drain using IM or a big territory to take down via TS, QS. So probably only have 1, max 2 artifact slots open. 1 should be HB, 1 should be the native Cache Boost any of Army/Money/Cache. I suppose Cache Boost could serve as a compromise for money & resource caches in lieu of having the native ones, but I still think it's too small a benefit to bother with. The only real use case for CB for army caches is with HB + AcacheB + CB, but then this implies non-optimal use of TS, QS, IM, and thus still not the best tactic.

Perhaps if sufficient IM powers (not artifact) are available, can forego the IM arti, but would still say QS is a better option.

Since I can finish the map very quickly with just one hospital upgrade, except for some levels that need to get drafts. With CB, I won't need to wait for the draft

With ACacheB + CB I can get to the first market in less than 10 minutes without using powers or SAC artifact. And no tech or hospital upgrades with Hex Earth
So I don't need TS QS

HB + ACB when I use auto-conquer
CB + ACB when I get the army cache
When I got the 4th boy
I use HB + ACB + CB at the same time and TW

Currently at Siege of Feldmere, about 6 days into my first SAsc. Just got my legendary AV artifact yesterday morning. In what order would y’all advise me to invest in my advancements in the beginning? There are a lot of stuff such as JS, IACP, mercs etc in phase 1 and I am close to maxing out JS

JS to 25% is of course a must.

I also recommend:

P1:
IACP to 100%, Add Mercs to 25-50%, Stats to 4.

P2:
AQ 5-10%, Inc AP +25%, Merc Disc 50%, Inc AV 100%

P3:
Start with Tech 10, Tech Discount 30%, Skip Levels 10 (helps get back to the new levels post Asc).

P4:
Better Hospitals 50%
AAQ 5%
Inc Army Caches 100%

That's what you "need" from each to get the best value at the lowest buy cost for each phase in order to set yourself up for another SAsc.

If you are instead looking to do lots of digs, finish the WZIC etc, results differ.

Update: now on CCC, maxed out JS, IACP 60%, Add mercs 22.5%, nothing else unlocked, 51 AP away from unlocking phase 2. I’ve been taking about 1.5 days per level for now, but I’m concerned if I’m too slow and I should superpower skip levels and hunt down any levels that are probably faster so as to unlock the good stuff in phase 2? Or am I at the right speed given my artifacts? I do not want to use powers unless absolutely necessary because these are not renewable

While technically true, most of the powers are effectively renewable if you are willing to wait a while and count on the daily rewards. Especially Skip Levels will fill up again if you don't tend to use them on a regular basis. I'm pretty confident that you will easily max out on Skip Levels with each ascension even if you completely use them up once per ascension. At least until you piled up a good chunk of super-ascension boosts that let you finish all levels with insane speed. And although I totally get why you would want to hoard the powers instead of spending them (I'm one of those folks as well), what are you saving Skip Levels for anyway? At some point in your super-ascension you can unlock the Skip Level advancement and then there will be absolutely no use for them again until you super-ascend yet again.

That said, I don't know whether playing the levels in a different order will really help you in any meaningful way. Playing more advanced levels with only few advancements will always be more tedious then playing them in order and having piled up a few more advancements by the time you reached the advanced levels. So, unless the higher level would give enough APs for specific upgrades when the lower levels wouldn't, and you really, really, really need this upgrade (or you want to skip certain unpleasant levels), I would probably not diverge from the level order. Because lower, and therefore shorter, levels give you more options to upgrade smaller things in the meantime that will still improve your level times, while with longer levels you have a long period without any improvements possible.

@Phoenix I am saving the skip levels till I need them for the new levels (I expect to buy 2 skip level advancements by the time I reach Triskelion, esp since all the hardened levels up to Scandinavia should be playable by then). That being said I have a strong feeling I might not need them anyway because the new levels look difficult enuff that it might only make sense to attempt them once I’m deep into phase 4 (though I’d want to farm the powers from the respective levels so I can get tech achievements there).
Looks like I’ll need to put up with the grind for another week, at least until I reach Far Land… (by that point I expect all the hardened levels up till there to be playable, except possibly for hardened CCC which I will hold off till additional mercs are high enuff…)
