Wow, Rashaz has been hard at work. This new map has over 3100 territories - that's 5 times bigger than the previous largest map (Quad Earth). Be prepared for some performance problems on this map if you have an older PC!
wow looks amazing only possible complaint is that there are no regional bonuses (like new england midwest etc) but who cares it looks amazing although itll prob take a year to play. and does anyone want a specific map done, i was planning on making one i was thinking maybe a bigger map of england, south america, austalia, or pacific islands but if someone has a request please tell me.
The U.S. Big map is a herculean feat, make no mistake. Congrats, rashaz.
Pinkbladder- If you are looking for map creation ideas I would throw Africa in there; I think it has some really good potential as a continent map. Also, I would recommend deciding how many bonuses you want to have before doing any work (deciding how many players it will be ideal for as well helps in this process; 24, 32, 36 are all decent). I look forward to hearing about some progress. :)
Sue, a Canada map should be awesome. And Pinkbladder, from a pure gameplay perspective i think either a mediterranean or indonesia map would be pretty sweet ;)
Thanks ^^ Maybe I'll improve that map later, I'll add seas, borders of Canada and Mexico and some more bonuses. I don't know if that map will be playable it may be too big ;] I'm also making South America map (~200-300 regions).
Matma Rex: I was thinking about dividing seas for regions, it could be interesting, but we would need some Randy's support ;] I think that the best solution would be divide clickable territories for 2 types: grey for ground and blue for water areas. Of course its just an idea, I don't know how complicated would be implementation that ;] I even don't know if it will be as playable as I think ;]
I've tried playing it in single player mode a couple of times now, and here's what I've noticed:
1) Inevitably for a map this size, many territories that should connect do not, and others that should not connect, do.
2) My client glitches and won't let me commit orders around the sixteenth turn, every time, and I'm forced to start from scratch again.
Frederick II: omg, that's not good, I was really do my best to connect everything properly :| as always I want to upload my new maps as fast as I can even if they are not 'perfect' ;] sigh, but I'm checking out now these connections and unfortunately you're right, there are a lot of mistakes :| I'll fix that later ;] Connecting regions is the worst part of map creating, I hate it :| It would be great if there were some way to automate it a little bit.
rashaz: I'm playing in a big multiplayer game and all of us are compiling a list of the territories that don't connect. There's also a territory from pennslyvannia and another in new york that don't exist at all. Take a look up there in game and it'll be obvious which ones.
