@Rick: Nah Fizzer is a smart cookie, it's just hard as fizz to get him to listen and respond (I have a betting ring for this, PM me if you want in- so far all bets on Fizzer actually reading stuff and responding to the point have lost). It makes sense from his perspective because he's flooded with noisy Information like people reporting the female genitalia themed clan Poon Squad for sexual innuendo. PSA: Poon Squad is a okay but naming a clan Big C**k is not because advertisers do not allow innuendo even though they use the word "cock" (don't worry, advertisers allow this) in their own publisher policies to refer to roosters, just like Big C**k clan. I can't believe Cacao got the clan deleted with no refund (not even in coins!) and just took it lying down. MFer (that's mother fizzer not mother f***er) took it lying down even though he literally lives on a fixed income where $10 matters.
Anyhow the issue with Fizzer isn't so much personal as structural. We're told indie this, indie that, indie rock, indie roll, indie your mom, indie your dad, but
indie is bad. Corporate oligarchies like Activision have like thousands of people whose only way to get promoted is to show they did something good for revenue (in a competitive market, this means making consumers happy). Indie devs roll solo and are beholden to themselves and free to ignore customers.
Indie had accidentally invented an incredible skill-based strategy game but imagine if chess were controlled by one dude. That would be heck. This is Warlight- the birthright of humanity. And Fizzer keeps it from us! Why would I NOT collaborate with Activision?!
So if you have one takeaway from this post- forget about Clan Wars- it should be "indie games bad corporations good"
@Loxiiv: my favorite graph. Amazing to learn that if I had only 3 more inches I'd go from freakishly small to freakishly large.
