Who's looking forward to this year's Warzone Awards & Tourney?

Cursona usually does it, he backed down from doing it this year, and no one else stood up, so we shall go without

How about a slimdown version? With online voting and ending with the annual tourney?

Maybe a community effort?

One of the reasons I thought of it is because I always think of Warzone Awards whenever it's the Superbowl.. lol.. same time of year.. same cultural significance!

A year without Warzone Awards is like a year without superbowl..........

What is superbowl?

A superbowl is a lawn bowls term for when you not only knock the current closest bowl away from the jack, but this action results in the bowl you bowled now being the closest bowl to the jack.

I thought superbowl was when in bowling you get a strike on one of the lanes adjacent to the one you shoot the ball from?

I was going to suggest the same idea at the time Cursona announced it, some kind of pooled effort to do it, but decided not to be the first one to bring it up due to the insinuated first-person-in volunteering of taking on the brunt of the organizational work. (;

But now that you've volunteered for that honour ... I'm down for the idea. Let's do something. It's probably not that much effort if we just skip the video presentation part, and tbh I find myself skipping parts of the video b/c it often feels like a lot of discussion/lead up to a 30 second presentation of each award, so I end up skipping preambles and etc to just get to the part where it takes about the actual nominations and winner for a specific category. And every year, someone asks "where's the list of winners?" b/c some folks don't even want to bother at all with the super long video and just want the results. If someone is down to do the video & editing, great, but I won't volunteer to take that on as it is absolutely not my forte. But doing categories/voting/making a forum post for it ... that could be done with likely much less effort.

I would like to see this again :)

Does anyone have the list of categories we've done in past award shows? Let's start there ...

I know quite often the ask for "is there a forum post listing the winners" often ended with a URL of the video to try to get people to watch it instead of just read the results ... so not sure if it ever made it into text form?

If so, let's start by gathering the nominees for each category

May I suggest to add a mod category? Maybe best modded game created or best mod created.

Mods are now the best way to get new game mechanics and there are a lot of them already. They are becoming a bigger part of the game and even the modded community is growing (we've had new mod creators, new players starting modded games, etc).

I know that I'm a big person in the modded community (if not the biggest), but my main goal all this time was spreading the knowledge of the existence of mods and how amazing they are.
