@Cicero_: Their strategy was to beat you with SEAD? That would be surprising, even without me assuming any planing capability...

You guys have 40 players and are capped. You can't keep swapping players in and out each CW season because of CL. The odds are completely stacked against you. It is like Optimum is playing football with a couple additional guys and still lose over and over again.

i also thought optimum cared but then i joined their discord and started getting pinged with @everyone for 3v3 ror lobbies

CHALLENGE: discuss about cw changes without flaming each other. IMPOSSIBLE

Kal, I think that from Fizzer's perspective it looks like this:

1. Has vision for many capped Clans

2. Introduces Clan cap

3. Community migrates to uncapped Clans - vision is stalled

4. Introduces new measures to achieve vision of many capped Clans

@Stonewall: This is a really good point and a strong argument for “first” 25 rather than “top” 25. I admittedly hadn’t thought of this aspect and you may have won me over. This could be the unlock to get the absolute top clans (including OP) interested in CW again.

I do like the idea of it being a group effort to shoulder the burden of playing every day. At first blush this seems unappealing but when you consider the alternative is it being an individual burden you realize why so many top players opt out.

This all comes down to sustainability. Cicero is right, OP plus friends can absolutely take down MB in a single three week season and nearly have. But it’s so incredibly difficult to sustain that energy and momentum with the current model.

By moving to a model where *the team* needs to sustain that energy but *the individuals* do not, CW can be a fun team competition rather than a motivation grind to find people who are willing to play on vacation, on weekends, through busy periods at work or at home, etc.

First 25 to play feels like a busy 1st slot then a dead day for CW.

The 'first 25 model' has the issue of players trying to play in the later slots of a day may be too late, 25 already played, no slots left. So those whose timezones have them sleeping through the first few slots, working for the next few slots and able to target the last 1-2 slots run the risk of not actually getting a game at all. And the players who are awake and not working during the first few slots don't know for sure if anyone will be aiming to play in the last couple slots, so they must make the call to play to help get a full 25 playing, or take a chance and hope someone plays later.

So doesn't this force micromanaging of the roster again?

'Top 25' for the season seems to be the more lenient model that just simply lets everyone play, whoever plays get season rewards, no one is ever denied a game.

Yeah I think I'd lean towards "top 25" to end the season. Not sure it matters if there is a limit to how many players play per clan.

Fizzer will not go for Top 25 in a season. That would benefit uncapped Clans - which is the opposite of what he wants.

As I have shown, the advantage is not that big. 1000 garbage players couldn't beat 25 good players.

To get in toe with 25 75% winrate|75% participation players, 400 50% winrate|70% participation players were needed.

No clan is producing more than 100 70% active players.

Kal, you assume that Fizzer wants to make Clan Wars more competitive. He does not. He wants mroe players to play Clan Wars.

He thinks that the solution is to punish Harmony for its size. This will (in his eyes) free the c.400 players who we lock up and prevent from playing CW every season.

The truth is pretty much the opposite if that. We have spent years trying to get a full roster and have just about achieved it in the past few seasons.

So he will punish Harmony for having (probably) the highest participation in Clan Wars ever seen.

Why does it have to be only the first 40 to play in a CW season are the only ones to play in the season when there could be a maximum daily amount of players which is the same as the limit?

If i remember correctly from the ama stream, he wants both:
Everyone in a clan should be encouraged to play CW, and the most skilled clan should win!

Which is a great mindset actually.
I just hope he doesnt make it mandatory to play CW for people that don't want to or make it impossible for idle playing newbies to get any good rewards.
