Reading the wiki for order delay card, it says "Using the Order Delay Card is similar to making an infinite number of "dummy" moves that cause the orders after the delay card to execute later."

does this mean, if i made an infinite and 1 order, i could out delay the delay card?

Probably not. It seems to work like turn phases, so having any number of orders in the phase before the next OD gets played won't push your next order into the OD's phase.

Maybe. How are you planning to send infinite+1 orders via your wifi?

I'm not sure you understand the concept of infinity.

I do think a mod where the OD card instead has the worth of "X amount of moves" would be interesting. Where an OD card counts as 6 orders for example. Making it possible to outdelay it still, but only with heavy investments.

I'd suggest someone tries it out. Whenever you did not outdelay the delay card, I am sure you just missed it by 1 move.

Hmmm... Wouldnt your infinite orders just destroy the whole meaning of his order delay? Since his orders wouldnt ever happen, it would be just your orders. Forever. And your enemy wouldnt ever get his orders down

So, would you out-delay him? Unless warzone is buggy and you overflow his move order variables (might be on the order of 2^16? 2^32?), what happened would be that your turn would last forever. And his order delay would never happen. At least afawk, since how could we prove it, if we cannot see upon infinity?

You could press SKIP button, but... then the server would crash. And you would win. I like the idea :3
Just like enough super-ascensions destroy IDLE's idleness. You would have to transcend warzone's bug-catchers in order to send infinite orders.

You would be fighting Fizzer Himself!

And by then, your thoughts would have ascended, and you wouldnt care about a fussy order delay card. You would be up with the Gods, fighting for or against survival of the server

Hehe amazing. The chase for transcendence, in a fight with the creator himself

Glad to see you around mr rojo

A being capable of sending infinite orders into a game, lowering himself to fight against a mortal with a delay card.

It's like you have the power to move mountains, and instead you try to push the ground and see what happens.
Like a fly against a crystal wall. You would be the laughingstock of the godlike beings that can send infinite orders

EDIT: Meow!
The sire Gilgamesh from Harmony's tournament finally died, and i can now play again and not get booted.
I will not boot if i can avoid it!

adding 1 to infinity aint making it any bigger

How are you planning to send infinite+1 orders via your wifi?

You can encode something infinte in a finite way. For example you can easily code up a never-ending while loop. Well, it would end eventually, but not due to its logic, but heat death or smth.

Since his orders wouldnt ever happen, it would be just your orders. Forever.

You can finish an infinite amount of tasks in finite time. Obviously, no matter how quickly each task is done, tiny_number * infinity still equals infinite, but when tasks can be done in varying durations, the sum of all infinite durations may still be finite. One example would be if each following task takes half as long as the previous.
Some physics blah like planck-time (setting a minimum duration) would still ruin it tho.

Heat death, in 10^100 years… or maybe longer. Does that mean everything is still? Wouldn’t gravity still exist? Confusing subject

I guess once I find out how to make infinite orders, doing infinite + 1 would be pretty easy. And a bigger number

Tip of the hat for a funny meme question.

But counter-answering it seriously - we wouldn't ever want their to be a way to outdelay the OD card by "doing a lot of work". It's bad enough we need to add delay moves in regular games (notably large maps) but having to put even as low as 20 additional moves in to outdelay just wrecks the game experience.

Infinite and infinite plus 1 are the same size - you would need to play infinite + infinite delay orders to outdelay the OD card - ie a second order delay card.

However if we want to get serious then I think fizzer is mixing up what the order delay card does on the wiki. It doesn't offer you an infinite number of dummy moves but it does offer you an unlimited but finite number of dummy moves. I blame his American limitations on communication in the English language... but then again I'm xenophobic like that...

As a curiosity, in maths there is a concept of "infinity plus one", in the ordinal numbers. The ordinals are: 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. (In contrast to cardinal numbers, like 1, 2, 3 etc.) The first infinite ordinal is given the Greek letter omega, which I'll write as: w. Then, w + 1 is the next biggest ordinal number. (But confusingly, this is not the same as 1 + w, where the terms are given in the opposite order. In fact this is just w again.)

Anything +1, is 1 bigger. If it was a finite amount of dummy moves, there should be a number where 1 more is enough, like the wiki would suggest. Infinity doesn’t mean endless, correct? Just means unquantifiable, by our standards

y'all need a math lesson..

Infinite and infinite plus 1 are the same size - you would need to play infinite + infinite delay orders to outdelay the OD card - ie a second order delay card.

+1 for getting infinity + 1 right, but infinity + infinity will just be the size of the bigger of the two infinites. As we are talking about moves here, it is reasonable to assume all infinities mentioned are countably infinite, and infinite + infinite will just be again the same infinity. Also infinity * infinty is still the same thing, not any bigger.

As a curiosity, in maths there is a concept of "infinity plus one", in the ordinal numbers.

Cardinals and ordinals are not the same, cardinals are about size, ordinals about order.
You can define w + 1 as the number that comes after all countable infinity, but that doesnt change that the size (or cardinality of the set of all those numbers) is unchanged by adding another.

If you want to know if two sets are of equal size, the definition is very intuitive:
They are if and only if there exists a bijection between the two sets
or in other words, find a 1-to-1 paring of the sets members.
It should immediatly make sense how this lines up with our understanding of being same size.
With that definition, you can also easily convince yourself that all those infinites are the same thing.

If you want the next bigger thing, you ll have to leave the countable realms, for example looks at real numbers.

However, back to outdelaying the infinite moves, it is about order, so w+1 is the way to go indeed.

Anything +1, is 1 bigger. If it was a finite amount of dummy moves, there should be a number where 1 more is enough, like the wiki would suggest. Infinity doesn’t mean endless, correct? Just means unquantifiable, by our standards

Why not, infinity means forever but only as we understand we can’t comprehend past infinity. It’s not actually never ending. Just unquantified
