Leaving aside the countless conflicting claims with all we know from science, an all-knowing, all-powerful and benevolent god is simply incompatible with the universe we live in. Suffering and evil exists (especially because of those religions ironically). The god knows how to prevent it. The god has the power to prevent it. It doesn't. So it cannot exist. Now abandon those books.

Stating that religion is the cause of all the world's suffering is grossly ignorant. It's also hypocritical of one who asks for tolerance to display such bigotry and prejudice. The true cause of the world's problems is greed and power (And the lust for such). Humans are generally selfish and don't need an excuse to abuse other humans. Abolishing religion won't bring some liberal utopia you're hoping for.

See, I have issues with gay marriage supporters who oppose polygamy.But at the same time I have equal issue with polygamy supporters who oppose gay marriage. Both defy the traditional form of marriage, supporting one and not the other makes you look like a hypocrite.
