I agree with the original post except for ONE BLOODY THING. You speak of rationality and how rational people do not believe in the existence of God. However, that it untrue, there are billions of rational people in the world who believe in the existence of God. I do, I'm a Catholic. I also don't care if your gay. Be gay, its not my thing, I believe that you get into heaven all the same because If there is a god, he love all his creations if they are good in their lives. there shouldn't be pro or anti gay, its just gay. Be gay, whatever, I really just don't like when someones gay-ness is shoved in my face like "support me support me" No, support yourself. Because I have gay relatives and I had a gay friend( he moved to Texas, yeah Texas) And they don't shove it at you. Gays do not make their case by having weird orgy sex parades, be prideful in who you are, but I don't see a straight parade in Miami Beach, now do I? The issue in America and the Western(and well developed Eastern) World is that there is to much focus on the Gay part and less focus on the part that they are really just regular tax paying, law abiding citizens. I am ashamed of my political party the Republicans because they rely on the most fucked up book in the Bible to say that being gay is wrong. Leviticus also speaks about paying the church with a turtle on your period, so that book is a little weird. I believe that if Jesus were here today he would not care if you gay or straight, he would care that you lived your life fully and morally, and be a overall good person, regardless of who you love. I'd appreciate it if you would all take a moment and stop blathering over a non-issue, because if you really were "pro Gay" you wouldn't have t justify it on a website for immature children.

Claiming to be gay isn't rational, neither is it being good in life. If a gay person does not express their feelings for other men, I believe they will be rewarded, not punished.

That's why I am not homophobic. I am against any expression of love between people who have the same sexual organs, and one expression of that is gay marriage, so I advocate the banning of gay marriages.

Its not a claim when its who you are Colonel? What if hypothetically we lived in a society where homosexuality was the norm and babies were genetically made by donors. All people were with people of the same sex and you wanted to be with women? How would you feel? What if that societies holy books or moral state banned being "gay" as the definition would be in that culture? How would you feel? oppressed? angry? upset? How would you feel when you told your parents this and they rejected you? You become a social outcast? Put yourself in someones shoes and walk a mile before you claim to finish the marathon. My friend you are among those who give us Christians and conservatives a bad name. You claim much, but support little, there should be no issue with a loving homosexual couple as long as they live morally? I think that if we held an *actual*debate, the issue of these things would be resolved without such constant conflict.

This would entail a committee selecting their speaker for their side, a set of 4 dialogues within a round, and a session of 4 rounds. Each side gets an equal budget of available characters, and equal amount of dialogues.

I think before you can decide that there is no God, you experience some real life first. The problem is in Young America is that you feel as if you know everything to ever happen ever. However, you have no proof there is NO God, therefore it is an argument based on assumption. I believe in God because what is the reason for humanity? mere chance? coincidence? Why bother going to school? Learning? Loving? Procreating? Anything at all? There are no coincidences, we see this in nature and in our own lives. You may ask then, "well how can I believe in something I can not touch, see, hear, or feel?" Well the answer is simple, faith. You may not believe in God, but you show faith every day. Faith in the fact your lights will turn on at the flick of the switch, you cannot see the electricity, but you know its there. It is the same principle. Believe it or not, God is with you, and one day you will see him. You must remember that throughout history, civilizations have fallen as they lose their faith, because, at the same time, they lose their morality. Rome, Greece, Assyria, China. All of them.
