Was playing for 1/2h on the big New York map, boot time was 2min. At 2 min and 5 sec, got booted.

This kind of behaviour is so frustrating...

Funny, This "kid" is 24. Also was about 15mins into the game Tops, I played a 2 MINUTE BOOT Because its mid day and I have things to do, I let almost everyone go over the timer multiple times before I decided I had enough. If you want a slow game play a longer boot time. It doesn't matter when you boot you get people who cry about it.

Playing games with 2 minute boot times and then crying over getting booted is silly.

If you need more than 2 minutes to make a move, play games with boot time bigger than 2 minutes. Quite simple.


Also, always link the damn game you're talking about. Seriously, lately it's as if people were progressively getting more stupid here.

So the facts are:
(1) you knowingly joined a game with a 2 minute boot timer,
(2) you are aware that this means you can be booted at the 2 minute mark,
(3) you then took longer than 2 minutes to take a turn,
(4) you got booted.

Am I missing something here?

Imho playing any of the Big maps in less then a 10 minute game is asking to get booted.. although i had managed to fight fairly well half of E.asia vs half of E.asia in a 5 minute boot... there's just too big a possibility of having a need to look at too many angles at once.

Anyway, booting at 2 min + 5 sec without the least warn is just not the definition I have of being FAIRPLAY.

Now you are all right, boot time was 2 min. This last turn took me 2 min + 5 sec. I really diserved to be booted after 30 min of placing my f...ing armies on the board. Keep up the shitty attitude guys and you'll get far ;)

Just one more comment : I have been booted 4 times over 208 games. I don't consider myself as a slow player.

You were booted right at 2 minutes mark, which certainly doesnt make Vampire look good. He also booted nearly everybody else on the game.

On the other hand, you joined a game with 2 minute boot time on a huge map, and you apparently didn't make your moves on time (while Vampire did). Is it that hard not to join quick games when you need time to make move?

my posts were clearly in opposition of both of them.

booting at boot time is *ungentlemanly* and the attitude and use of a sore loser, or someone that only cares to win for winnings sake, not for winning cause they are better.

however i can't support noobs that join a game with a boot time and complain cause they get booted in that amount of time.. deal with it, say a few words in chat, maybe even argue with them about it, if necessary /blacklist, then move the 'ale on.. posting in the thread because someone *implemented a faucet of the game* is just fail, especially since it clearly states about that faucet being in place etc. at least complaining about people jacking up a bonus when you don't notice it is reasonable since it doesn't pop out and tell you.

OK you got that, people should not complain in this forum for being booted abusively. I agree and I think there should be a dedicated place for that, I'm not the only person here that have had this problem I guess. You must know how frustrating it is to be booted just 1 sec after the timer is done, especially when the game has been fine for more than 10 turns. So dont faint to be that stupid and ignore that fact. Considering I always played below the timer in this game.

ANYWAY, let's not do again the discussion. I won't convince you both, Perrin and Protagoras and actually I really don't care about that, all I wanted here is that the name of EZSTreet be known for playing this kind of unsmart game. I consider mission accomplished with almost 20 views, and I thank you for that.

Now let's comment again on EZStreet action : sometimes myself I also create games on big map with very low boot time, to discourage slow player from coming. But that is OBVIOUS to me that I am not going to use this boot option in case it takes 1-2 min more to someone, ESPECIALLY after 10 turns when everything has been just fine, which was the case here. That is called fairplay, respect, good manners, etc. I'm pretty sure you know all about that already, but just want to play the devil's advocate for the fun of it or anything else I ignore, boredom I guess.

I think you missed the second part of my post, about you being silly and having to get over it, since you're still ranting.

Booting right at the mark is frowned upon, but certainly not against the rules and not really against the spirit or whatever. Direct boot time should be *the time*, time that you should never ever exceed, and you should expect to be damned *booted* if you take longer, unless your opponent decides to give you grace - but he may not, and you'll be *booted* in such case, and you should accept it. Geez.

Okey, thank you, I was of the path. You made me realise how stupid I was to be comprehensive with people that go 1 sec beyond the boot time.
