Let's say that you're invited to a scientific, highly-regarded convention to discuss a recent breakthrough in nuclear physics.

What tactics would you deploy, once there, to derail the event? I ask this because we have a few professional derailers on the forums; they've thoroughly impressed me.

Just use "by the way," "Off-topic:" and "Did you know..." quite a bit. There are similar phrases.
