Just a simple thread intended to create a decent place where people can find qualitative information about clans (for no-longer-up-to-date quantitative information, you know where to look). Talk about whatever you want to as long as it relates to your clan (i.e, the clan that you are in at the time of making a post here). Clan: The Gentleman's ClanI'm relatively new (3 days in now?) to this clan, but what I can piece together so far: - It used to be Brothers in Arms but Fizzer granted an exception to his "I'm going to be an unhelpful dick to the community because that's how I make money, somehow" rule and let them change their name because another clan has it.
- It seems to be open to some interesting people- Lolicon love <3, shinigami (an alt of Death), Gen. NumbNuts- and most members seem to have either been part of other clans in the past or active members of the forum. Doesn't seem to have very high recruitment standards; instead it's pretty inclusive.
- The clan has a "Gentleman" theme (and a biweekly internal award based on said theme) but doesn't try too hard with it
- The clan doesn't confine itself to strategy or diplomacy. It doesn't go hard in either field, either. Diplomatic Immunity (the leader) seems to more or less see the clan as a way for people to just get games/find people so they can enjoy WarLight as a whole.
- The clan seems to have frequent games and tournaments. Not super high-quality (my sole clan/interclan game so far is with the GC vs. the Poon Squad on typical Poon Squad settings) but definitely not low in number. Still fun.
- Members overall seem friendly. Not the sort of crowd you'd see critiquing someone's picks, but just the people who say random things in chat games and maintain conversations that are sometimes worthwhile.
Overall, feels like kind of a cozy place to just relax and have fun without taking the game/metagame that seriously. Very laid-back. Personally, I'd say the laid-back attitude + the leadership (DI seems pretty dedicated; he even seems willing to learn code to make an actual internal ladder for the clan) and lack of fuss about weird clan "politics" are the clan's strong points. I don't know how other clans are in this arena, but GC seems like a solid clan for people who don't take the game that seriously or just pop in for a few days once in a while (the kind that don't want to go out of their way to find people/games but also don't want to worry about logging in every X days to take a turn). Not to suggest the entire membership is like that- this is just my personal situation and GC seems to fit it very well.

Been in 3 clans, M'hunters, Yugoslavia and TUC:
Clan: M'hunters I've been in this clan for a bit less than a year now and enjoying it:
The M in M'hunters doesn't stand for Master but rather in the words of the clan's founder AyanM "because its a nickname of the director of Mi6 from James Bond and also the first letter of my second name."
friendly open community where you can get teamates for ladders and such.
Regularly have internal tournaments and threads discussing games and what went wrong.
we sometimes have problems with players and booting since we are a large clan, I think we're the largest Strategic clan.
The vibe is laid back, generally we play in teams against randoms, a clan where basically everyone knows everyone. You trust in the standards needed to join the clan and so you trust the players from the clan.
All in all, its a good community if you want to improve your skill or need some teamates for ladders/tournaments or simply want good friends
Clan: Yugoslavia well technically I'm still in this clan.
currently all the leaders of the clan have retired from warlight so there is no way anyone new can join the clan.
Found this clan interesting, we didn't have internal tournaments or an active community but I found it interesting that different people from a region that is always at war with each other could come together in the clan.
it seems there are no real requirements to join, I was simply like "hey, can I join" and they let me in without checking any of games.
All in all, an interesting community, currently the only active player from Yugoslavia is Robert Lee who when I spoke to last said he would never leave the clan, all the other players(myself included) have gone AWOL
Clan: TUC very German clan
according to their clan page TUC stands for too many things that it may take up the entire list.
This was the first clan I joined when warlight just first introduced clans so I'm not sure if things are still the same in the clan.
a very friendly clan that I had to leave simply because I don't know German and all notices and things were in German.
At the time I was with them they were active in internal tournaments and seemed like a close-knit community.
I was the first person in the clan that they didn't know personally, all the members are 45+ and work together. I, at the time of joining them was 18, so there was an age gap and well as language
A mature clan of players, I wasn't aware that people that old played warlight, but the players were very friendly and although they may not be that well known, If you're German and want more mature players I'd suggest joining them.

Here goes a long essay about CORP. If you have time, read it all!
CORP isn't just a clan. CORP is, de facto, two clans merged into one, Scorpio (strategic-based) and Hyaku-men (RP-based). They both have different purposes, different people, different requirements to join.
Ah, but why not create two clans then? For a simple reason. Because these two clans (or dojos, as we give Japanese names to everything concerning the clan's organization in honour of our leader, Kazuki, who brought this clan back from apathy) have much in common. Firstly, the line is not fixed. Strategic players sometimes enjoy diplomacies and roleplayers express desires to advance their skills or simply enjoy playing competitive games occassionally. But what counts above all is friendship. The titular Coalition of Role Playing Friends may have not stayed entirely faithful to the initial idea, but it sure kept the Friends element. And friendship, while obviously not fully developed due to the lack of real contacts between people still are the foundations of the clan.
CORP is big. We recently reached 100 members. But it still maintains the idea. As written on the CORP description page : Basically a person you'd like to invite to a game. And that's enough. You don't need to be active, to chat or to be particularly skilled to join CORP. You simply need to be an enjoyable person to play with.
CORP is also old and has a dramatic history. It's an undeniable fact and the reason for which many people left. But it's over now.
TL:DR : Coalition of Friends would be a better name for the clan. Activity and friendliness are the only relevant criteria (though if you want to join whichever dojo, you should preferably have a basic understanding of the respective dojo's profession.
Forgive me my very emotional and probably a bit biased speech, but it is really how I feel about my clan. Perhaps someone could correct me if I'm wrong in any way.
:)

sounds a lot better than AWF, "AWF is a wrestling themed clan, where we have our wrestling themed internal belts, where the winner will become the new belt holder" Sounds stupid as hell, I would of just not said anything

Yeah. We're such friends. Take Prab and I, for example. CORP is more dramatic than your next reality TV show. Death takin' the piss out of how I messed up legal terms. >>>>>>>> tinyurl.com/historycorp <<<<<<<<< Currently editing this drama fest right now. History of CORP if y'all are interested. You must have a basic strategic awareness to join - or that is what everyone takes the piss out of me now for saying. (Screw you Leonardus xD) I am writing like Prabster Realm does to take the piss out of him. CORP is rising. CORP has big bond in the clan. CORP is very good clan. Join today. We dislike inter-clan politics. We play the game, but we still manage to find drama. I don't know if our drama is over yet. Prab and I we are getting more dramatic recently. But CORP is rising with player bond. #HAVEAGREATDAYFACT
In all seriousness, I pretty much agree with what Death says. I'm just glad he found this before Prab did.
By the way, I really like the principle of AWF. The belt idea is very smart, don't mock them for it.

Death's post makes me happy. The dojo system was my creation, and even the words he brought up on the clan page were mine. >_< Nice to see I still have an impact on the clan in some way, shape, or form. You did a lot for the clan (even if I was inactive during that time) and it still does have a big impact on the goals of CORP right now.

I think I can conclude the ox and I drama which I think I started and which although ox disagress he continued but I would say this I'm not much into the internal deep English that everybody uses I speak in a more slight manner I don't abuse people on forums and I don't want any member of CORP getting a bad name Although my name is tarnished highly by our friendly neighbourhood ox I wish not to do so (clan comes first in every scenario in CORP for me now) Ox handles most of the parts of CORP into making tournaments and many more and he has a good impact of the clan whereas we do the same too. What most don't understand in this is why we are a clan? and why we are a council ? Its not a one man show we are running we are doing it together But I should say I am sorry for starting up some rage drama in the clan but I disapporve ignorance ,aggression and most importantly show off personalities going on because CORP is not the place for that seriousness :-) But out of all that CORP is wonderous and mostly active.A player joining the clan never says or looks at the clan in the bad way so that sums up the reputation of our clan :-)
