On how i think anti-gay bigot should be treated, i'm gonna continue with my analogy:

I think people discriminating on sexual orientation should be treated with the exact same level of contempt and intolerance as people discriminating on skin color.

I think christians anti-gay bigots should be treated the same way as muslim anti-gay bigots and atheist anti-gay bigot: They should be treated as anti-gay bigots

This is what religious liberty means to me: you don't get judged on your religion
it doesn't mean that religion exempts you from being judged

The only rational "disapproval" of gay marriage is to marry someone of the opposite sex.

ie. Not partaking is the only rational disapproval. Disapproving of someone else's right is never rational.

It is perfectly rational to push for the establishment of a society where you would be priviledged over others. Humans have done it since the dawn of times. It is selfish, morally wrong and repugnant in 2016 given the social progress we have accomplished through time and education, but it is rational.

He does have a close enough argument. He argues that christian fundamentalists are more consistent because they consistently believes what is litterally in the Bibles, while moderate christians, he argues, pick and choses the passages they like best to fit their modern values. He doesn't say it to be hateful though, he is glad that most christians are not fundamentalists ^^

I am not picking and choosing what to believe. In fact, the only place where god wanted being gay outlawed was in the old book with the jews. There is reason why the bible is split into the old and new books. The old book replaces much of gods original laws ( eye for an eye, ect ).


I try my best to be a good Christian and follow the religion I have chosen with my best efforts.

That statement is usually reserved for conservatives but I usually find socialists and liberals the most close minded of people. Every time I read someone attacking my position, I consider there point very carefully. Why? because I grew up in a house where no one ever opened up there mind to think outside the box.
