Yes, Spuds secured the championship over a week ago. After taking a closer look it seems Division A is really starting to take it's final shape now that the season is drawing to a close. There's been some significant results since the most recently posted update:
Yesterday, a crucial 3v3 between WTF and Warsenal WC determined 2nd and 3rd place which was previously undecided between them; WTF claimed the silver and Warsenal WC took the bronze.
On the other end of the table, timon92 has recently bagged a couple of wins for Legends of Light. Interestingly, if the Legends win their 1 remaining game, and RandomPlayers lose their remaining 3 games, then we have a tie between 5th and 6th place both on 35 points. Assuming we'd look at the win rate in the event of a tie, Legends would have an 11-24 win-loss record compared with RandomPlayers who'd have 10-25. Consequently, the Legends are not quite guaranteed relegation just yet, but it's out of their hands; one more win for RandomPlayers is all it would take to send Legends of Light down to Division B. Even if RandomPlayers fail to secure that win, timon92 would still be required to win the Legends' last game (versus Buns157). I expect that that's easier said than done. The main point is, Legends of Light could stay up this season despite a very poor season. Less likely things have happened... Spuds swept the 3v3 after all, didn't they?
Meanwhile, Robot Unicorns are the slowpokes of Division A with 5 games still remaining. Whilst they're very much safe from relegation, and the top 3 are now set in stone, the Unicorns haven't quite got 4th place locked up yet. Another 9 points via 3 wins will certainly bag them 4th place via a better win rate. However, if they fail to win as many, they leave open the possibility that RandomPlayers win their remaining 3 games and pinch 4th place from them, dropping the Unicorns into 5th.
Not sure if there's even anything at stake for places 2nd through to 5th, but I suppose there'll always be pride.
What about Division B? Well, Ventus' 2v2 win against Cat Attack today has guaranteed they will finish above them, i.e. it is now impossible for Ventus to finish in last place, or for Cat Attack to be promoted. But besides that, anyone could still finish anywhere else. Division B started almost 2 weeks after Division A so I imagine there's still 1-2 weeks to go before seeing a clearer picture there.
