WEEK 3 SUMMARY: DIVISION A
Let's start off with an apology on the hot mess that was my life this past week. Normally I'm better at managing my time but when you throw in getting sick and being in bed for 2 days that kind of destroys your ability to manage your commitments properly. Anyways since its so late for Week 2, here's Week 3.
We continue to look at 1v1 games with only a mish mash of 2v2 and 3v3 games finishing. Lets dig into this a little bit.
Overall it looks quite good for Spuds (hedja) with a large lead in points coming from all game types, 1v1 through 3v3, a strong win rate and a high max point ceiling. As well since they have finished quite a few games the impact of a late game stumble is smaller then for other teams.
Like for example, Warsenal WC (Tjoex) is doing well but it is more at risk of failing apart as they have finished a fraction of the games Spuds has. But Warsenal needs to look at their 2v2 and 3v3 teams hoping for a sign of life there right now. Having done well in 1v1, it is critical 2v2 and 3v3 teams start to bring in points to stay competitive. However, Warsenal WC just may not be ready or able to compete for the top stop and that this team will fade further and further back as this season progresses.
But the team that now looks like it has been eliminated from winning, though not mathematically I suppose, is Legends of Light. While the perfect 3v3 score Master Turtle was hoping for has been put out to pasture, this team can still play spoiler for the rest of the division. With a win
finally on the board they can continue to climb but the question of 'when will this team rally' is getting louder and louder with no clear answer on when this funk will end. Do others still believe Legends of Light can win this?
Robot Unicorns are looking better then ever with some wins coming through but their win rate is definitely the Achilles Heel dragging them down. However, with only 5 losses it is an anchor easily shed with a good performance one week.
WTF and Random Players are putting up decent although weak performance in so far. But overall for these teams and for everyone else it is still early days and ANYONE can still win this with a late rally.
Spuds has seem eerily consistent with their points growth whereas Warsenal WC has been much more stagnant, except for a late boost just before this post. Overall not much to report here other then 'look, look, I see an upward blue Legends of Light line now!'
I included this graph because I was curious if it would be helpful to covering the division yielding new angles. So far it is more interesting to just look at then comment as I can glean very little from it so far other then the win rates are generally tracking with points growth.
I was thinking 'maybe a clan/team that is racking up points but losing a ton of games can be shown to be weak with this graph or some other cases I haven't thought of' but alas....
And don't fear Division B! I'm setting everything up to cover your division. I may not get a week summary out today but something at the very least will get posted! :)
