Group B: DIVISION B Week 3 UPDATE
Well everyone has been very patient with me and here we go!
Division B started off with a bang but has settled to more plodding pace. So far it appears this division will be tighter then Division A, but Division A has its own unique race so comparsion isdifficult.
All tournaments, except one, are too early to predict the winner(s). The one exception is 1v1 ME WR where Zappyelf (Alpha Hunters), PhucillJerry (Ventus), and Dr. Love (Cat Attack) all have a shot at winning. All have a 3-1 record, however a three way tie is not possible so there should be a clear winner of that tournament. Others are better at this tie-breaker type analysis then myself, so correct me if I'm wrong.
The Force and Ventus are the current front runners from Division B to promote based on their current track record in my opinion (sorry Alpha Hunters but you just aren't quite in the right position to challenge for the promotion spot yet, thought that can easily change).
Currently I see The Force winning as Mike's team has been more consistent then Ventus in both winning games and maintaining their win rate (see the Point Growth and Win Rates graphs below) as opposed to Ventus which has a longer negative trend regarding their win rate. When Ventus will bottom out with their win rate is the biggest question.
Cat Attack started slow but has moved past F.C. Nazwa and Jingo which are fighting it out for last place. My money is on Jingo finishing last, just look at how flat that line is in the Points Growth graph, its like Saskatchewan (Kansas for Americans).
While it does appear that trendlines are emerging, most points are from 1v1 with only a handful of 2v2 games finished (and no 3v3 games). The shape of this race can easily change over the next few weeks as we pivot to team games.
I'll end on a discussion topic that is more pertinent for Division A then Division B: booting. Division B has much better activity then Division A with only 4 boots I've observed so far. That is miniscule compared to Division A. My working theory on this that Division A has more players from 'elite' clans where activity is more of an issue then the players in Division B. Despite players coming from more humble clans, their activity is higher and should be commended. By keeping Manager's League active, hopefully it can flourish. The point of looking at the boot rate is how it can be fixed. More on that later.
Next week I hope to look at the Season 1 predictions for Division B, it ought to be interesting.
Division A will be posted later today.
