Not really something to complain about, I mean honestly. That being said, I do believe that the 1 game option should be removed. (To be perfectly clear, Buns is not doing anything wrong and is in his full right to do 1 game at a time. If it was the top spot he cared about the well used 5 games, +stall losses would have been a better approach.)

EDIT: To elaborate, I think the 1 game option should be removed since I think the new people in 10 (or at least top 20) ought to have a decent chance of drawing Buns to a game from time to time. See how Buns last 3 out of 4 opponents have been way down on the ladder, compared to Buns? Through I view this as a fail of the system rather than exploitation by a player.

Yes.

It's not just him. It looks like it has become optimal strategy to stall once you get to the top. That needs to be fixed.

1. Buns:

When he restarted the ladder in January, he completed 11 games in 5 days. His last 11 games have taken over two months.

2. Tyrion Lannister:

When he started in February, he completed 11 games in 6 days. His last 11 games have taken over 6 weeks.

3. alhazi

When he started in November, he completed 18 games in 5 days. His last 10 games have taken 2 weeks.

4. Peixoto

When he restarted in October, he completed 13 games in a week. His last 13 games have taken 6 weeks.

5. ZeroBlindDragon

When he started in December, he completed 10 games in a week. His last 10 games have taken almost 3 months.

In tennis, golf, anything, to stay on top you have to keep winning. You don't just get to the top and then play one tournament every 3 years.

What that tells me is none of those guys are confident in their abilities. They don't feel like they deserve their rank, they feel like they got lucky and gamed the system and want to enjoy it for as long as possible, until somebody inevitably beats them and they lose it.

If one of them were truly the best, they wouldn't care about this crap they would just play and keep beating people.

Also, let's compare WL to a less physical sport like chess. To be the official #1 there, you need to win a few games every 2nd year or so..... in fact your 3 years is more historical accurate.


+ Buns is playing 2v2 and RT ladder. So clearly he is playing games. +probably a bunch of other games. You don't just get lv 65.

What 1 game at a time tells me, is that Buns is foucusing on somthing else then the ladder. Like real life?

Your getting so annoying Billy Walsh. You'd be no closer to #1 if Buns was playing faster so why cry about it every day. And also, he is not manipulating the ladder as you previously stated. In fact by playing 1 game at time there is less ability to manipulate one's rank. Do you have some hidden agenda against Buns that explains this barrage of criticism.

By playing fewer games he has fewer chances to lose. That's blatant manipulation. All of them are doing it.

Ya, he's in 21 multi-day games right now. He clearly has the bandwidth to be completing more games. This is a conscious decision. He wont openly admit it but the reason is that he clearly wants to maintain #1 for as long as possible and he thinks the best way is to play as few games as possible, since he is not confident in his ability to keep beating other top players and realizes he is just on a lucky run.

How many games is acceptable to your standard Billy? It's up to you to decide now how fast everyone should play? Take the #1 spot and then you can show us all how it's supposed to be done

They all started out playing a lot of games and slowed way down. It's the slowing down that is the problem.

Every one of them does it. It's not a coincidence. It's not that they just don't feel like it. It is clearly intentional so they can camp on their spot. Look at the arrows and equal signs on the ladder. EVERYWHERE else it's full of arrows, people moving up and down. But top 7 is all equal signs except two guys who traded spots. That's not an accident. Those guys are all stalling and camping, afraid to play and lose their spot.
