Why would WG lower their join requirements if they need more quality to get back to A, not less?
As it currently stands, WG's stated requirements damages their own growth. This is easily demonstrable by the fact that competitive players, by the time they reach one of the following requirements:
A) top 20 seasonal ladder final rank/
B) top 25 1v1 ladder/
C) top 10 2v2 ladder;
will be in one of the following predicaments:
1. They'll already be in a clan;
2. They'll already have decided they don't want to be in clans, or
3. They're alts.
In many cases, great players are built, not found. If WG is relegated, I believe this is a case study that proves its model of poaching great players from other clans/clanlessness is no longer as sound as it used to be, and that it should consider actively investing in the growth of players with high potential instead of taking in the players who have already become highly competitive. If they are not relegated to B, the model is still good enough to keep them in A-list status. We shall see.
