Week 3 Summary:
Onto week 3 with the race becoming clearer for some, and less for others. Team games are finishing though it is still a small sample for each clan. Now, lets get into this!
o.0 Well that turned out smaller then I expected.
So, a good week for M'Hunters (9-3) and VS (8-3), each growing significantly in points of 35 and 28 respectively. For about a day it seemed that Hydra and BIA were perhaps getting closer to VS but that was clearly a blip and the gap is much larger between 3rd/4th and 2nd. M'Hunters peaked mid week with a 82% win rate but it was also a blip and the clan is settling around 77-79% win rate.
I'm going to quickly switch to LEA because they had yet another bad week with a weekly record of (1-11). At this point LEA is the clan with the worst start in CL, having dropped nearly half of their max points potential in only 3 weeks. M'Hunters is on pace to pass LEA's max points and eliminate 1st place as an option this week, earlier then I thought. It can be argued that VS should pass LEA's max points in 1-2 weeks eliminating LEA from promotion. If you look at the 36 max point drop off after CORP, LEA is essentially solidified relegation.
Next, it can be argued that at the pace VS and M'Hunters are going, both clans will finish in 1st and 2nd. Hydra and BIA just don't seem to have the power to narrow the gap with VS. Essentially, I am arguing that the promotion and relegation spots for C are being determined although CORP, Hydra and BIA haven't been mathematically eliminated from promoting. And act of god is needed to get them into a promotion position.
So, there is a race going on between Hydra and BIA right now. I say its an effective tie because there are conflicting variables where each clan leads. BIA leads Hydra by 2 in Max Points, Hydra leads BIA in points 50 to 45 and win rate 53.33% to 51.85%, only a difference of 5 points and 1.48%. Even both clans had a weekly record of (3-4).
To me, the only reason the race for 3rd place is significant is if a clan in A or B drops out and an extra promotion spot opens up. So despite BIA, Hydra and CORP trailing VS by a decent margin, positioning can be important.
Lastly onto CORP, which had an improved week of (5-4) but still with losses. CORP more then doubled their point total, up 17 points. The positive win rate has pulled them out of their slump, and they are only behind Hydra and BIA's Max points by at most 13 points. There are lots of points to go, but I will point to Great Lakes where trouble will continue for the clan. Angry Koala has been booted in two games and one game CORP has lost. So with potentially 20 more points at risk from boot losses, CORP still will struggle to pass BIA and Hydra. Its possible, but the odds are low.
Overall, its been a week of solidifying trends for M'Hunters, VS and LEA, a bounce back for CORP and a slog for Hydra and BIA to separate from the other.
