At the end of Clan League Season 7, the results of the Divisions C, D1 and D2 were as follows:





So once Division A finished up, things seemed rather straight forward promotion and relegation wise. But then the clans started to drop like flies.

• AHoL drops out of A, causing a chain reaction of clans promoting including 101st to B, and Yin Yang promotes as the highest ranked D1/D2 division clan.
  
• Illuminati and AWF merge. Formally, the process involved ILLUMINATI letting Hydra replace it and AWF dropping out of Clan League. Division D shrinks by one clan allowing General Chous to compete in Division D instead of E.
  
• BR, relegating into C, opening a new promotion spot in C and for Hydra to promote (AWF had dropped out and as the successor to ILLUMINATI formalized by CL management Hydra moves up).
  
• ONE! replaces XS in B. No extra promotion spots open up.
  
• Warlighters drops out of B, allowing Staghlwittern to promote B and for M'Hunters to promote C.
  
• Lu Fredd suddenly drops out allowing CORP to promote.
  
• General Chous is forced to drop out after an exodus of players.
  
• Either Darklords was banned from competing in Season 8 or they dropped out. Either way, they don't matter.
  
• Out of 14 clans that were supposed to divide into Divisions D and E, only 5 remain: Olympus, Poon Squad, Juggernauts, Hawks, Dutch Forever
  
• MotD sets a deadline to submit a lineup, Yin Yang doesn't submit a roster is therefore excluded from CL. As this is last minute, no clan promote to replace them.

So Olympus could have promoted to Division but I really don't think they would have wanted it and would likely be at the bottom of the division with LEA relegating.

But to give a definitive answer to Ben's post, Division C has 6 clans because of Yin Yang not submitting a lineup.

M'Hunters weren't as organized last season as they are now. Plus they faced more serious opposition from CORP- they didn't have a >50% winrate vs. CORP on any format. CORP was disproportionately successful against M'Hunters, weighing them down just enough for Illuminati to take the promotion spot.

If I remember last season correctly M'Hunters should have beaten ILLUMINATI. On 2v2 Szeurope one of our last games was against M'Hunters who were beating me and Stormers. They had the income and position lead then one of their players got booted and the team surrendered. We didn't deserve that win and seeing as we beat M'Hunters by one point. But as we saw above, M'Hunters, Hydra and CORP all promoted in the end.

It was narrow and certainly well-played on the part of VS, M'H, Illuminati, CORP, and Chou Frise.

Dismaying to see both CORP and Chou Frise decline so hard.

Next season the Miezekatze Hunters are gona show their true face and whipe some elite but. We will deliver the final death blow to WG. Seeing their stats drop, gg will fall back to some #Elite style farming their own alts. Masters will join Apprentice while the Lynx players won't get accepted into the 101st clan. The Icelandic Turtles will learn the harrd way that turtles can't survive in the cold. The French community will change their flag to a white flag but we won't accept the gesture. We won't accept any terms of surrender besides complete and utter extermination, for we are Daleks!

Say what you will about the Monkey Hunters, but boy are they ambitious!

I have to say Im kindda disapointed with Hydra, I was expecting them to fight for #1. No offenses, but I believe they could have fielded a better lineup than they have.

@Guns - we are missing some of our strongest players, but some don't seem that motivated, and others are competing elsewhere in the league already. :P

We also lost a number of strong players in the merger - at that time a number of semi-actives ended up leaving. So what we ended up with was a similar number of very strong players, and a merger of the middle and lower tier players. lol

(not making excuses, I'm just explaining.)

@TeamGuns, yes we could've fielded a better lineup. I am learning from those mistakes and moving forward. I have written up a personal summary of the season to analyze why things have finished the way they have. In each case, every template was different. The lineup can't be blames on one underlying issue, but has many problems that combined together.

And I'm not as interested in this season since we aren't going to promote. I'm looking at next season to develop a lineup for that season. Plans are under way for season 9 which should have a far superior lineup to our current one.

Nope, probably no more divisions in the next clan league. And I watched WG's play and didn't completely understand why Verzehrer didn't win at least 50% of his games but some of their other guys getting beaten up would have gotten also got beaten up in Division C. Also of course a "mass clan" like M'Hunters is a bit like the French Community where you can't take the clans average player to predict how their clan league team will perform. Last clan league season we had no selection and just let everybody participate in whatever slot he felt like. If you look at our top players then other so called "elite" clans have taken quite some efforts in the past to steal them from us (of course without effect since we offer them more) and just because they participate now for a bigger clan doesn't mean they magically perform worse than when they would, for example gotten stolen + maxed out by WG.

There is quite an ignorant attitude of the so called elite clans, for example Apex is now to anderground cool to play in the ladders. However looking at your profile you went up to fourth place in the 1v1 ladder and you are playing in the Strategic 1v1. We have a couple of guys who went higher or equally high than you in the 1v1 ladder, so I guess they will be capable to fight back. As Farah was part of our clan, I always saw him as someone with great capabilities, however who just wasn't well rounded enough yet. As he switched to Masters, I read something about Masters (which are the strongest clan in division A) now being stronger than ever, with another great top player. However stuff doesn't work like that, you aren't, as long as you are part of a bigger clan, a nobody who gets beaten up and as you join to a small more elite group of player, you suddenly turn into an unstoppable monster.

Assuming VS + M'Hunters promotes and assuming there is no CLOT for next season.

It will be curious to see how they will do as well with other clans trying to close the skill gap between A + B where most of the A division clans are confident there are a visable gap while smaller clans like ours I suppose and others believe it's not hugely visable. I think M'Hunters have excellent players and with Norman driving the strategic engine of the clan I believe they can enjoy clan league and really show what they are capable off.

VS likewise, I highly respect there values and clan. They too have excellent players and I do believe they have the skill gap to challenge for a promotion in B and push the Division A clans for there money. They have a community bond which is sacred to these players.

Division B will be the most interesting next season as it has for a while. At the moment it's likely going to be GG/Apex WG Sninja 101st/Outlaws VS M'Hunters VIW , This is action packed and exciting stuff which will ensure every game will be well earned and worked hard for. Will be very exciting to see how the top 7 elite clans where 2 of them faces the B division which will be stronger than most seasons thoroughly.
