The question being asked is clearly "Who are the top 5 players who actually play now?"

We were not even close to finding out the answer 100 thread post before and we are not even closer to the answer now.

I need all you people to focus so we can have a exact answer on the question!

the 1v1 ladder is the closest thing we have to a true and unbiased test of ability. so whoever the top 5 are would be the answer.

Blaming Plat for everything has gotten to be quite the old narrative, continually perpetuated by people who have known him for a longer time and continue to pass it on. krunx has been known to, uh, slow his pace down to benefit his rating (1v1). Anyways, Plat's not perfect (the link you provided that he acknowledged above), and I don't know what he said to you, but he wouldn't be the only one from major clans who troll others from time to time and to think otherwise is absurd.

Njord: Well, two games, and sure, the fact that he did it to me makes me feel more strongly about it. But I think you know better than I do (I stay away the discord/skype stuff, but some of it still gets through) that it's not just me.

But moving away from one individual, there is a right way to deal with suspected stalling, which is to politely point out to the person that their actions, though possibly innocent, look suspicious and can get them a bad reputation. Most people will respond to that positively. Verbal attacks have exactly the wrong effect, and are worse than the original stalling in any case.

EDIT: Yeah, fair enough, Bonsai. Platinum is not the sole cause of strife here and the "Nobody else" comment was exaggeration. I would however point out that I formed my opinion of him before having any discussion about him with anyone else, so don't blame anyone in Lynx/101st for passing on the narrative to me.

i have no idea what your talking about when it comes to discord(but it is also such a vague insinuation that one cant possibly know)
But when it comes to anti stalling i can assure you that the reasons why not more is done is due to practical and principle problems and it got nothing do due whit plat writing to you in 2 games or anyone written anything to anyone really. I can't even see how thise things can be related

This is rather hilarious how me calling out a staller is "trolling" as it's "obviously false accusations" when really you did actually stall.

Calling someone a staller because they were on a team with someone that stalled is pretty silly.

Krunx very obviously was the one stalling that game.

I however absolutely do not think trolling is worse than stalling. One is a community issue, the other ruins the integrity of the game.

Actions speak louder than words applies not only to good actions vs promises, but also shitty actions vs. rude words.

Njord, are you sure? My case is a only one example, of course, but I am far from the only person who thinks that false accusations of stalling are a bigger problem than stalling itself. Do you not think that, if these stopped, it would become much easier to reach an agreement on the issue?

But I am still a relative noob, as Jeff rightly points out, and I am obviously heavily swayed by my own experience, so perhaps I am reading it wrong.

I don't think Plat really thought I was stalling, I think that he was trolling because I have been known to hold up tournaments with long RT games.

PS and I had a 32 turn strat 1v1 game in a WGL stream once.

@Knyte I was joking in our live-stream, I wasn't seriously calling that game stalling.

@Nauz If you play team games at a high level, It's not 3 individuals playing their best moves. It's a unique team, having each individual member having their orders to suit the team. You decide as a team what moves X and Y and Z should make. If we take your opinion correctly, Than every team who decides to stall can simply nominate one of their members to take the "hit" and stall. Therefore 2 gets away with murder. 1 member simply doesnt decide to stall on behalf of the team.. It's a pre-determined decision. Also, Kicorse and Mandarb or anyone could've technically LEFT the ladder and prevented the stalling from being beneficial.

In my opinion, If you are part of a team that stalls and you say nothing.. that is encouraging it. The team is stalling collectively.

I agree they should leave the ladder to make a statement that they don't condone their teammates actions, but they can't make him surrender.

@Kicorse Before you talk about how people like me should call out your stalling, which takes no consideration for others, please admit your stalling than you can be treated with a bit more respect on my end. Why should I respect a staller? You apologise for your stalling and I will be open to discuss my "calling out" techniques.

Platinum, when you acknowledge that your accusation was false, then it might be possible to have a constructive conversation.

And I believe the preferred term these days is "snowflake".

i haven't looked at games in question but it's hard for me to believe kicorse is a staller, given this is how he played the top of the 1v1 ladder:



He could have drug that out for 3 months if he wanted to and probably stayed in 1st the whole time.
