When CPU split apparently BIA took their place.

Same thing here, Lynx is taking the 101st place and 101st is starting at the bottom.

We have precedence to our cause.

If you put us in group D, fair enough, but isn't this decresing competition.

I don't see why you don't want Lynx in group A?

Yeah, those arguments were used for GG and [20] as well...

Hauptmann This is different, it wasnt a two way split, some players just left.

Apollo its not that we dont want you there but the rules seem to prohibit such activity

If you let 101st stay in Group A they'll be butchered, it wasn't a split so much as a well planned decision to take the most active and dedicated players.

They're the ones that brought the 101st to Group A, I reiterate for the 3rd time :P

Lynx is for right now, exclusively 101st players, most all of whom partook in the Season 4 competition.

But wasn't [20] competing for the first time. GG was a completly new clan it seems.

What if Lynx takes 101st place? And 101st don't play next season.

If 101st doesnt play then I dont see any issue with Lynx in Group A as the 101st rep. You should just say that you two are part of the same clan then, even if youre not.

The main question here seems to be, what decides which clan gets the spot in group A? (1) The clan containing the most players that participated for 101st in season 4, or (2) the clan containing the most players from 101st after the 101st/Lynx split? If we go according to (1) then Lynx gets the group A spot. If we go according to (2) then 101st gets the group A spot.

Going back to what JSA decided between seasons 3 and 4:

XCD is not CPU at all. I believe 3 players from CPU are in XCD. Same as WG.

BIA will represent CPU. I believe it is split up about half and half but BIA has all of the better players previously in CPU. If we go into technical rules, we could possibly let CPU compete in A League since the CPU name was used. However, I consider BIA equaling CPU since all of BIA's members are of CPU and they are equal to the rest of the CPU clan. The current CPU clan did no work to stay in Group A, that fell mostly onto BIA's shoulders. Plus more competition in A League is better than less competition. So my verdict is obvious, BIA will be in Group A in place of CPU.

http://warlight.net/Forum/Thread?ThreadID=6309&Offset=180

JSA is a bit ambiguous here unfortunately. On the one hand he cites the fact that most old CPU members became BIA. Which would support (1) above. But then he says "The current CPU clan did no work to stay in Group A, that fell mostly onto BIA's shoulders," which supports (2). Also supporting (2), "Plus more competition in A League is better than less competition." So if the decision is made based on JSA's rationale at the time BIA took the CPU spot, then Lynx should take the 101st spot.

Yes but 101st still exists. If 101st doesnt play then I say Lynx can have the spot.

101st has officially split into two clans, so I see no problem with them both playing. Obviously alts are not allowed.

Look at the thread Pushover linked. Right there decides this decision. 6/10 of the CPU players who played in the clan league were bia. So bia got the group a spot. This time, 6/7 (will soon be 7/7) players who played for 101st are now lynx. Exact same scenerio, except lynx has even more claim to the group a spot than bia did. Some people said that I am only doing this because I am in lynx. That's bs, history shows I ruled the same way in the previous season. To change the rules now would completely undermine the authority of the clan league.

If Lynx is an extension of 101st, then 101st won't be able to participate, but Lynx can. If not, 101st can stay in A, Lynx needs to restart.

Pushover, the main difference was CPU no longer existed at the time we started the 4th clan league, but if we're to make GG start from the bottom then Lynx should too. We passed no judgment on Elite's status in the previous clan league to decide where GG went. To keep changing the rules constantly for these odd situations make no sense.

Apollo is claiming that as of this weekend Lynx is not a part of 101st. It is a separate clan. They even paid $15. :P

I don't see the difference between 101st changing its name to replicate the CPU thing and 101st not changing its name. That is a semantic difference only. The fact that *all* players that competed for 101st are now in lynx should definitely mean something. Lynx did prove themselves, just under another name.

And yes, this means I did change my mind.

The players make the clan, the clan name is unimportant. I've got an odd example for this: if warlighters and apex switched clan names, would the old apex players suddenly fall to group b because they changed their name? The thing with gg is that they wanted to be in group a because they were a skilled clan. You have to earn it first. Lynx earned group a. I feel like ive already earned it once and wouldnt want to do it again. i guess i have to hope cheis and miyagi see it the same way. I helped my clan earned the group a spot and I want to reap my reward: play against the group a players. Bring it on twm, summer, frank, fridge, Michael, and noobschool!

new clan = start in bottom
lynx = new clan
lynx = start in bottom
101st = group a last season
101st = group a this season

there was the same idiocy with CPU splitup. A few of the CPU guys went to XCD (gruff, slammy), yet it was BIA which got the Group A slot in the end. Boom. BIA gets last place this season. I guess the clan league is ran by biased people. If you want my opinion...

ALL NEW CLANS MUST START FROM THE BOTTOM.

New clans is defined by official clans that were recently purchased.
