101st is the designated feeder clan. Lynx is the alpha clan. 101st/Lynx should never be in the same division. If Lynx demotes from B, Than 101st moves down to C in this scenario. Two clans with very close links to the point they see each other as "one clan" is a joke if we look in the interest of competition this constitutes them not being able to play with each other. The free travel concern is addressed by the Clan League rules in terms of transfers.

@Plat, What happens if feeder clan and alpah clan are both in the lowest division? (or joins CL at the same time)

Can a clan have multiple feeder clans? Yeah, it's a bit to easy to find hypothetical's that i don't have the answer too. It is also not ideal to have both feeder and alpha clan in the same Division of course. Nor to artificially hold a clan back.

TBest? We both know he's not going to make a judgement on that, didn't he say he just wants to keep the league running

Mh, yeah that seems hard enough, so I should probably focus on that. And outsource all the other stuff.

What if lynx demotes from B?
Why should clans in the qualifiers have to face an upper B level team?

What if 101st stopped the promotion process?
Should lynx players be allowed to go down and play for 101st then?

You're creating more problems by introducing this rule, in which case this never happened?

Also since outlaws took 101sts place in CL9 shouldn't they move down to B, since that slot belonged to a feeder clan?

"@Plat, What happens if feeder clan and alpha clan are both in the lowest division? (or joins CL at the same time)"

Never will happen because of an Alpha making a Feeder clan, the Alpha would need to be in a place of power to afford to create a feeder clan. That's basic clan principle laws.

"Can a clan have multiple feeder clans? Yeah, it's a bit to easy to find hypothetical's that I don't have the answer too. It is also not ideal to have both feeder and alpha clan in the same Division of course. Nor to artificially hold a clan back. "

Another issue for another day but if there are triplets being made, I think that would be a strict line crossed for many players.

"Mh, yeah that seems hard enough, so I should probably focus on that. And outsource all the other stuff."

Management Panel to be formed?

@Sluttyfatginger

"What if lynx demotes from B?"

It's a very unrealistic scenario especially if you consider how the clan structures are. I've suggested 101st goes down a division. Which leads to your next trap question...

Why should clans in the qualifiers have to face an upper B level team?"

They shouldn't that's why there's an argument for feeder clans to be banned from this league. This is the consequence of allowing feeder clans play CL. This isn't the issue I'm talking about, I'm simply saying 101st/Lynx shouldn't be in the same division. If you disagree than vouch for removal of feeder clans altogether.

"You're creating more problems by introducing this rule, in which case this never happened?"

It's hypothetical but I rather argue for a rule change brought in now than vouch for one being brought in when 101st promotes to A and it becomes a huge problem. If I did that, this would be a massive emotionally drilled thread of angry 101st players.

"Also since outlaws took 101sts place in CL9 shouldn't they move down to B, since that slot belonged to a feeder clan?"

No, because that was Outlaw's spot and a factor of that decision was nobody really wanted a 101st/Lynx collusion in A.

So if 101st stopped the "promotion process" you'd be OK with them playing in the same division?

Ultimately you are making a rule that is not only easy to circumvent, but also makes claims off the basis of "oh, they'll probably collude"

Doesn't seem like a fair assessment to me. As it's pretty obvious that:

A - Any clans can collude
B - Several clans have tight relationships, there's a chance of collusion there.
C - Rules would have to be needlessly complicated to achieve this.
D - In such a small league such a rule would be harmful to the league.

If 101st grows fast enough that they outpace the talent leeching from the parent clan, 101st should not be penalized for that at all. That's an accomplishment, not a sin.

You're welcome to keep us out of A by defeating us, if you can't that's not on us.

In the event that a mentor/student clan conglomerate were to have both in the same league, it would be fair to require that both clans of the conglomerate sign agreements that

A) Both teams being fielded have separate management during the season, and
B) That all games must be fully fair and independent, with understanding that there would be heavier scrutiny, and heavier penalties, towards potential manipulation.

However. If you try to bar a clan from competing because it has the merit to do so, you're doing yourself a worse disservice than cheating on the CL yourself.

To my knowledge in sports junior teams are not allowed to play in top division with their main teams. Even if they win 2nd league, they are not allowed to promote in order to avoid conflict of interest in mutual games.

I think its a good rule in sports.

I think decision should be made on possibilities of promotion of feeder (strange word, I would suggest junior) clans in advance, i.e. before we face a real situation. Its much easier to add a rule in advance, than to decide facing a problem.

I think Leader should state it in the rules. If he needs advice, he may address the issue to whatever panel or committee, or even all CL clans voting, or any other form he finds suitable.

Personally I would support all CL clans vote, as this will be most transparent and fair decision.

If 101st has such strong desires, make your own clan. Do an Outlaws on it. Otherwise, don't expect to get to your parent clan's division. But you guys are in with Lynx, Not my problem. You should be aiming to get into Lynx ;)

In other words - been there, done that, chief.

You're assuming a so-called student clan can even generate the skill needed to get into A! Challenge accepted.

Why do they have to pull an outlaws to become independent?

What if they maintained the close relationship, offered to teach new players, regardless of which clan they're in and play together in some instances. If the point is players shouldn't be allowed to get to A, because of the promotion process, that can be changed.

Unbiased way:

Identify potential problem (collaboration between clans?) -> Propose rules to limit it (brother clans can't play in same division?) -> Decide on what are the characteristics that make clans appropriate for a limit like that (joint management?)

Biased way:

Decide which clans should be hit by a limit (I hate Lynx, I hate 101st!) -> Propose rules to limit it (Lynx and 101st can't play in same division!) -> Identify potential problem (they can't play together because they'll collaborate!)

If you want to propose a ruleset, at least try to appear unbiased.

You do understand 101st/Lynx is a system that is proclaimed as one clan, where the goal of 101st is to get into Lynx. That's the clan ethos.

Now if you're telling me that they want to be independent for whatever reason, they can leave and make their own clan and claim 101st spot.

If they really have these ambitions, then why the hell did they join 101st? They should be aiming to get into Lynx under this system. That's part of the price when you join this system, where you get perceived training but your always property of Lynx.

It's common sense that a feeder clan shouldn't be in the mother clan's division.

@Sloppyfatginger

What's the purpose of 101st than? Are we really saying 101st should change its purpose as a clan in order to play in CL?

This doesn't sound like an CL issue to me, It sounds like a 101st internal issue.

Sorry but 101st/Lynx is the standard example of why feeder clans/mother clans shouldn't be together.

WG/Sninja Masters/Apprentices are more complex cases for the reasons SFG alluded to above If we can't agree on the 101st/Lynx thing than no way is a solution gonna be created for these more challenging cases.

But no accuse me of Biasm of course because it's Platinum and I'm talking about 101st/Lynx.
