This is a list for GOAT(Greatest of all times) @Nauz. So current ranking and skills dont matter. Deadpiggy was one of the best in his era, so ofc he would be a top GOAT. Its like saying that since Roger Federer doesnt play well these days and is beaten by worst players; so he wouldnt be a GOAT in tennis which is bs

@arrow. Tennis is a sport, you need to be physically fit for that, so when Federer starts playing worse because of his age, that indeed doesn't mean he has been one of the best or the best. Warzone is not a sport, there are nu physical conditions keeping you from getting better. Therefore I think your comparison is bs and I agree with Nauz that if he beats dead piggy 5-0 he doesn't belong in top 20.

> People always look back on players like sze much better than they were. You put deadpiggy 7th when he came back and was shite on the MDL, he couldn’t compete against the sweats of AI and Rufus.
Or maybe he just didn't give a shit and wanted to have a bit of fun? Not everyone spends every second of the last decade being a competive warlight player you know? Perhaps time to get a life?

dead piggy had an unreal understanding of the game back when no one had it. now lots of ppl understand the game. should piggy's mastery be valued more because there were less masters back then? or should we celebrate the success of the new wave, to have mastered warzone to even greater levels than before
it isnt good to talk down the GOATs of the website, ppl who were revered and honestly inspired a lot of other players to go competitive. we should respect what they did for us, and just continue to build onto it. i was tutored by many of the "GOAT"s, the community here is really helpful.
tl;dr sure dead piggy would be smacked around today but it would be good to respect all the hard work he did in the past to master the game in a way few could (at the time)

hm, I feel like nobody considers motivation or being rusty after a long break, when it comes to old player comebacks. I mean dead piggy was away from WL for almost six years! Whatever great understanding of the game he must have had, playing it a lot on daily basis for a few years, must have diminished, even without comparing it to the ever-growing overall skill of the top. What does it say about the top performance he had had back in the day?

I didn't post anything egotistical. I posted that Piggy was indeed bad by modern standards. That's literally it. You can stop acting like I was petitioning for myself as his replacement.
The only one that continuously does something is you continuously infatuate over me. I'm not your girlfriend Pulsey.

I went 5-0 vs Piggy when he came back. That's certainly not saying that I belong here. I absolutely do not, but yeah, if someone like me can stomp him, he's not anywhere near 7th.
No thats not literally it. You had to put in some subtle 5-0 humblebrag.
Its always obvious as heck you know? but nobody's just calling you out on it. They feel sorry for you old mate.

Honestly at this point I'd just give up if I were you. You may look upon all this as a failed decade in your life, where you spent 10 years trying to gain the admiration of a board game community but failed miserably and made a fool of yourself.
I'd just move on and cut the losses champ.

If we were able to compare MDL or 1v1 Ladder ratings across eras (e.g., figure out the inflation factor for ratings over time), would the highest era-adjusted Elo* (not Bayeselo) ratings be considered an authoritative measure of GOATness? I'm wondering if we have a precise-enough consensus definition of greatness to work out a quantitative approach (even if the data is not actually available).
* an Elo rating that we could trust to accurately predict the "real" probability of, e.g., peak piggy beating peak Summer
