Fifteenth Super Ascend!

This SA was all about making that Insane A$B and backfilling the foddered artifact types. I was able to find bases for all of them without too much trouble this time. I ended up starting the A$B cook after taking the last army cache on Hex Earth (1st pass), as that let me take ICA up high enough to replace the missing A$B and CB effect. Missing out on 44.8% ICA for the remaining P4 grind did hurt a little bit, HScandi and HRome weren't an instaclear with L1 hospitals anymore (I had forgotten about this), but Auto-Draft fixed that and I wasn't in a hurry anyways as I had a bit of a dig bottleneck at the end anyways. Speaking of which, the P4 grind at the end is really becoming a lot less painful now with the extra +%AP. It felt very weird playing with all of the missing artifacts.

It also feels very weird to be carrying over several Uncommons with an SA, but making an Insane will do that. Speaking of which, 4d4h until that Insane is ready!

Next up: +25% AP, getting CB back up to Legendary, HB back up to Rare

Sixteenth Super Ascend!

Half of this SA was spent waiting for that Insane A$B to finish cooking, and that was a little painful. However, Insane A$B is absolutely wonderful, it is a complete game changer. Even not having one for half of the SA, I was able to bring my SA time to under 10 days for the first time. It makes cache surfs so much easier to get going and really fills in a ton of total armies, which is especially noticeable on the early-mid levels where it's totally impractical to have enough AM yet (even with quite beefy +%AP bonuses) to efficiently clear them. I need to double check my numbers again, but Insane A$B should remove almost all of the need for SAC in the ugly quadriad (Nobunaga, Copper Creek Castle, Geopolitics, and Breaking Green), which tends to be a real drag. I really can't say enough good things about Insane A$B.

I also dropped Additional AP entirely from my advancements this SA (I had been taking it up to 17% previously) as the net benefit from it (while still positive in terms of eventual AP gained) had become so small as to make it no longer seem worth it. I swapped in Faster Crafting Speed instead, which was nice for the handful of levels that need crafting.

Next up: +25% AP, bringing RCB back up to Legendary (2x SA needed for this)

So I was ready to super, pressed the button totally forgetting to save the artifacts.

The game told me to select the ones I wanted to save.

So I guess you can't lose all your artifacts by forgetting to save them.

Now if you select some but not fill all the slots, will it stop you or toss the rest away. I don't know.

But it's good to know there is some safeguard there. If I lost all my arties, including ones I've spent money on, I'd rage quit.

@Morg, unless things have changed, it warns you only if you select 0 or 1 artifacts. the minimum everyone has without any SAsc benefits is 2, so the game protects you from carrying over less than that. but if you select 2 or more, doesn't matter how many artifact carryover slots you have, if you haven't filled them all, all your non-selected artifacts are gone forever. instead of protecting from "less than 2" it should protect against "less than the # of artifact carryover slots" each player has; it's already a variable, so should be a suuuuuuuuuuuuper simple change

I agree, but from a strictly narcissistic point of view, I am more likely to go all or none than some. I don't have 40+ artifacts which helps

@Morg, 99% of the time, i did the same, all or none ... but if you get interrupted by something mid-artifact selection, come back later and think "oh yea i selected them all, let's do it", you could victimize yourself

or once like i did where i was selecting the last 4 artis to carry forward at the bottom of the list (the ones currently in use/in slot) and the mouse slipped down a couple pixels and instead of clicking the arti to save it, i clicked the "Super Ascend" button by accident and BOOM, Insanes instantly vanished into the void, never to be seen again

The SAs are really starting to fly by now, Insane A$B has shaved a ton of time off. It helps that I only need 1 Ascend at the end now too, the ending P4 grind is dramatically less painful at this point.

I had to survey the remaining SLs as I'm starting to run low on those. I won't have to go out of my way to pick them up yet, but fairly soon I will. In another 10 SAs or so I'll have to start digging into the uglier levels (Trisk, HTrisk, HEH) to farm SLs. Provided I do those in late P4 rather than pre-Hex, that shouldn't be too terrible at least. After that I'll have to figure out Plateau Assault.

Next up: +25% AP, bringing RCB back up to Legendary (this SA)

The P4 grind continues to shrink, the entirety of P4 lasted well under 12 hours this time around. Right before SAing, I ended up firing off a Legendary TW for no reason other than to get my TS off of cooldown so I could fodder it into my Legendary RCB. I'm now down to only two levels that need a SAC arti (Copper Creek Castle and Breaking Green), and they're getting quite close to not needing one anymore. The real bonus is that they're not adjacent now.

SA19 will probably be slower than SA18 because my RCB will be cooking for the whole time that it matters (the early levels). Of course, SA20 should be better though.

It's slightly wild how much artifact slot pressure is removed by making an Insane. It's a couple more SAs off yet, but I'll have to start thinking about taking slots again at some point. I need to give some more thought to whether digging 1/2 Rares (alternating) per SA is still practical or if I need a new cadence for that.

Next up: +25% AP, bringing MD back up to Legendary (needs 2 SAs)

4th Super-Ascension for me today. Kept a 4th artifact: Insane TW, Leg AV, Insane ACacheB, and now I kept a SAC (upgrading from Rare to Epic). Still at just +25% AP.
