Seventeenth Super Ascend!

The SAs are really starting to fly by now, Insane A$B has shaved a ton of time off. It helps that I only need 1 Ascend at the end now too, the ending P4 grind is dramatically less painful at this point.
I had to survey the remaining SLs as I'm starting to run low on those. I won't have to go out of my way to pick them up yet, but fairly soon I will. In another 10 SAs or so I'll have to start digging into the uglier levels (Trisk, HTrisk, HEH) to farm SLs. Provided I do those in late P4 rather than pre-Hex, that shouldn't be too terrible at least. After that I'll have to figure out Plateau Assault.
Next up: +25% AP, bringing RCB back up to Legendary (this SA)

The P4 grind continues to shrink, the entirety of P4 lasted well under 12 hours this time around. Right before SAing, I ended up firing off a Legendary TW for no reason other than to get my TS off of cooldown so I could fodder it into my Legendary RCB. I'm now down to only two levels that need a SAC arti (Copper Creek Castle and Breaking Green), and they're getting quite close to not needing one anymore. The real bonus is that they're not adjacent now.
SA19 will probably be slower than SA18 because my RCB will be cooking for the whole time that it matters (the early levels). Of course, SA20 should be better though.
It's slightly wild how much artifact slot pressure is removed by making an Insane. It's a couple more SAs off yet, but I'll have to start thinking about taking slots again at some point. I need to give some more thought to whether digging 1/2 Rares (alternating) per SA is still practical or if I need a new cadence for that.
Next up: +25% AP, bringing MD back up to Legendary (needs 2 SAs)

4th Super-Ascension for me today. Kept a 4th artifact: Insane TW, Leg AV, Insane ACacheB, and now I kept a SAC (upgrading from Rare to Epic). Still at just +25% AP.

Despite my expectation that this SA would be slower than the previous, it was actually a smidge faster. This mainly came down to being able to slice out a couple of the later levels thanks to the extra AP. On the first Ascend I was able to get away with just a single HOT, HScandi and HRome run before cruising on straight to AU, EH and Hex. I was also able to run EH without needing a TS again (and without needing the CW bonuses either), which meant HCCC could be done last instead of earlier, which is also quicker.
I had some bad luck with Uncommon digs (3x in a row came up with Common), which was lining me up for having a dig/smelt bottleneck at the end of this SA. As I was waiting for the aforementioned bottleneck I yoloed a 7% Rare dig and it turned up Rare, instantly fixing my bottleneck! As a result, I ended up taking another artifact slot to keep the extra Rare. I'll probably use the spare slot for a backup HB while the other upgrades to Epic and Legendary soon (provided I find one).
Next up: +25% AP, bringing MD back up to Legendary (this SA)

Having MD back up to Epic smoothed out several rough edges on levels again. Legendary will be even nicer, obviously. I was able to find a HB and bring it up to Rare, so it will serve as a convenient backup (as I had hoped for in SA19) while the other copy upgrades to Epic and then Legendary.
Some levels are starting to look practical for a draft free L1 hospital clear on the first pass, Australia in particular. AD 1045 is also looking pretty close, unfortunately it has the problem of Copper Wires meaning that's actually much further away than it looks. It's borderline comical how much harder Old Town (which still needs L3 hospitals) is than Hardened Old Town (which is very comfortably draft free with L2 hospitals), in both cases as soon as I can get there.
I'm getting dangerously close to having to decide on an actually new Legendary (as opposed to just rebuilding what I foddered). I'm leaning towards SC, although I don't have one ready to go and I don't think I'd stall waiting for one, so we'll have to see what happens. BMB or TMB are also distinct possibilities. I have more or less decided that I won't fodder my RCB again for my next Insane, HB and MD are still potential fodder candidates.
Next up: +25% AP, probably bringing HB back up to Legendary (needs 2x SA)

Just did 4th today. Had legendary av, army camp, sac but decided to take some time to bump up av to insane. So +75% with insane av. Epic sac (upgrading) and a middling epic (territory bonus boost) mostly to upgrade. Going to do 5th with +100 and hopefully have either a$b or camp as third. Haven’t bought anything and no clans. Just leveling with arenas to speed things up and coins won from quick matches on either =+30% on hex or poor arties

As expected, Legendary MD was a nice little boost again for the couple levels where it matters. Legendary HB is going to be a significantly smaller boost, but more armies is more armies.
I realized on this SA that with some AP tweaks I could actually just skip right over Old Town and go straight to Hardened Old Town. That will nicely shave off ~4h of waiting for hospitals there as L2 hospitals are nowhere close for that map.
This was the first SA where I didn't need to Ascend even once! For SA20 I could have reasonably gotten away with it as well, but it was slightly faster to Ascend there.
I'm starting to reach the point where digging up one more Rare per SA is getting to be pretty tight, even with good luck on digs. I have been considering taking the dig time bonus to fix that, that doesn't feel very scalable though. Taking another Insane is another option which feels better. If neither of those two, then figuring out some new cadence for artifacts per SA and probably taking a bunch more slots to support it. I am leaning towards another Insane and filling any artifact gaps in the mean time with the CW dig bonus and/or CW artifacts, I think I want at least 2 more Legendaries first though.

The boost from Epic HB was modest, but I did realize this SA that I no longer need SAC for Breaking Green nor for for Copper Creek Castle. This means I go to L3 hospitals again with them instead of L2 with SAC, but avoiding the aggravation of having a slot tied up is definitely a factor.
The skip over OT went as planned and was nice, easily shaved off 5 hours.
As was unwittingly foreshadowed last time, digging became a huge bottleneck this time around. I had a series of awful luck on Uncommon digs where four or five in a row (all >80% chance of Uncommon) turned up Common. This resulted in a ~60 hour bottleneck at the end where I was just digging to crunch out the next Rare. I'll be lighting up the CW dig bonus for SA23 for sure, and we'll see when or if I want to take the faster dig SA bonus.
Speaking of awful luck on digs, I also didn't turn up any artifacts I would consider a candidate for Legendary at this time. The closest I found was an ACampB which if nothing better turns up I may bring up to Legendary (or maybe just Epic) to use as a backup while the other copy upgrades to Insane.
Next up: +25% AP probably, artifacts TBD
