That's an interesting question. I guess it's hard to count the time because of the nature of idle games. Idle game is not like I sit there and then play it for a certain number of minutes or hours. Instead, it's more like picking up my phone and click a few buttons, and then put down my phone and continue with whatever I was doing in real life, and then after a while I pick up my phone and click a few buttons again, and then put down my phone again.
Instead of having some continuous blocks of play time which I can measure, it's more like many tiny bit of clicking being spread evenly throughout the day.
For you guys who are at double-digit super ascensions and beyond, it seems like it’s pretty widely accepted that Army Cache Boost is the #1 Insane artifact. Is it crazy to think that Cache Boost could be as high as #2?
There are only a handful of artifacts which increase ‘free’ armies without a time component (Army Cache Boost, Cache Boost, Hospital Boost, Damage Territory/Triple Strike/Quad Strike, Field Hospital, Time Warp (kind of), Army Cache). Quick math suggests Cache Boost would be the second-most impactful of these once at the Insane level and it doesn’t have a cooldown so you can use it on every level.
To be crystal clear, I’m not advocating for this for anyone but an *ultra* late game player with multiple super ascensions who is trying to super ascend even faster. Cache Boost seems like it could really help with the critical phase before Increased Mercs hits +150%.
If you have, for example: - Insane Army Cache Boost - Legendary Alloy Values - Legendary Time Warp - Legendary Army Camp Boost - Legendary Hospital Boost - Legendary Cache Boost - 4x Legendary Fog Buster
it feels to me that on paper the play is to upgrade the Cache Boost. Any thoughts on this?
Insane Cache Boost (CB) will give 25.6% ... but whether it's 2nd best arti or not depends on your play style imho
For example: (1) If you do the IM+TW+AcacheB/HB + skip to Hex to repeat & re-SAsc strat, CB doesn't make sense, b/c if IM is available, use it then punch TW, gives you 2 cooling down slots, leaving you 1 slot for HB while capturing territories, AcacheB when capturing the last territory in an army cache-giving bonus then swap HB back in (2) But if you don't use IM+TW (or any other combo of Active artis), then you have more slots available and CB may make sense
Completely agree that if you have three slots and are playing Hex Earth that CB is superfluous. I’m not sure that’s meaningful though? If you’re playing Hex Earth you already have +150% mercs and potentially level 4 advancements (hospitals/army caches) - none of the artifacts will affect level clearance time.
I’m talking about the window where artifacts do matter - you’re beating medium-difficulty levels in (much) less than 16 hours but you don’t quite have enough mercs. Here you’re not using IM artifact so you have the slots and +25.6% from CB could mean you save yourself 2 hours of hospital upgrades or several waves of drafts.
Basically I’m saying CB > HB at the insane level. Insane HB kind of sucks.
