I honestly haven't played fogless fighting enough to determine its strategic depth, but my mostly uninformed impression is that it's on small earth's level. Not entirely un-strategic, but not in the same class as gold CL templates.

The bigger issue I see is that a no fog template is going to be a headache from a rules enforcement standpoint. It be nice to have a line on what level of commentary of the tournament is allowed, and while you could set the line at absolutely no commentary I think that's an unrealistic standard to hold the entire clan league community to over the course of time of clan league.

LD MA, multi attack templates by nature tend to be... not as strategic. -Orcus

We actually live in a timeline where Fogless Fighting and MME MA LD are CL templates before Yorkshire Brawl. Aseridith is making it's second appearance for CL when Yorkshire hasn't even gotten one. And Yorkshire is the older template and also has a seasonal played on it.

Announcement: Fogless Fighting (CL Version)

There have been objections you couldnt play Fogless Fighting without others giving advice. The temptation is possibly too high to give advice. Just to avoid such a scenario, there has been a small change in the template.

Fogless Fighting (CL Version) has light fog and offers 2 spy cards at the start lasting for 1000 turns. With playing both cards you can unfog the whole map (play 1 card on the opponent and 1 on the neutrals). This way fogless fighting is fogless for the players, but light fogged for the spectators.

It is basically me and a little bit Rento and Rheumakay commented 1x with "Really noone suggested 2v2 MME?" but thats been it. Last time it worked well enough in that manner ^^. Panels like the Template Panel or the Ethics Panel doesnt exist anymore. I think since Farah has taken over the lead and made CL a dictatorship years ago. 💪🏻 ^^

The reasoning for having this templates is not because I actually like this templates.

But they have been the most-nominated that fit in the established categorization. 2x3v3 3x2v2 1 of this 5 team templates is to be not vanilla. 6x1v1 of this 2xSR 1xWR 1xINSS 1xNiche and 1x can be any of the mentioned (last season we had a 3rd SR temlate this time it is a 2nd niche template)

You could possibly argue Fogless is no WR template, but rather niche too, but oh well it is for me WR enough 🤷‍♂️... Fogless actually has been the 3rd most nominated template after Aseridith and MME MA LD LF.

It might be flawed to go for the number of nominations, but this is the easiest way to determine the templates and gives a direction what the community wants to have, imo. And as long as they have a relevance in other strategic events (Fogless Fighting in AWP) or supported by nominations of enough Div A clans (MME MA LD LF) then they are for me strategic enough. :)

I think it would be good idea to only let A and maybe B division teams the ability to nominate. Less stuff for you to look over, higher quality templates, and most likely less backlash, but either way thanks for the work you guys do

When I have a bit more time I want to evaluate the nominations more. But I think the most backlashed choices result from A and B clans.

By the way, just played the 2v2 template in Russia. It is even worse than Georgia Army Cap where it comes to picking; I can't even pick all territories which border 3 or more FTBs, not enough picks for that.
