Lawlz, you are correct in claiming that paragraph is ad hominem, except that your character is a part of the problem. Most of your arguments to this point have been ad hominem attacks on Christian individuals, or worse people who claim to be Christian, but in fact have no idea what it means to be Christian. You have been attacking the people rather than the faith.

None of your argument have anything worth standing on. Your LGBT rights movement won't proceed any more easily if you side-line and oppress religion. In fact, claiming that religion should be illegal (and yes, you went that far) undermines any legitimacy to your own cause. One group oppressing another isn't progress and most certainly isn't "freedom" though you're welcome to continue thinking it is.

Well, at least it's supposed to be. Although there's been a growing trend of ostracizing people from all public life just for holding a specific political view.

I wanted to throw my computer awhile back when I saw a news story about Firefox's CEO being forced to step down because he supported a Christian group that lobbied against gay marriage. I don't care what your stance on gay rights is, nobody should be fired from their job just for taking a certain stance on an issue.

Good, I'm glad he got fired. This is why I hate christians, because of how you act. It isn't some filthy act or "alternative lifestyle" like you seem to think it is. It's almost identical to cis/straight relationships and it's about damn time we started getting equality. Now it's being held as discrimination as it should be.

Everyone has the right to hold and express their views, whether you think they are right or wrong in those views is irrelevant. Whether those views offend you or not is irrelevant. If someone is morally compelled to stand against something than they have the right to say so and seek legal means to take that stand.

Also, the fact that you think it's ok for people to get fired over petty political differences says a lot about your character. God help us if people of your mindset have their way. I'd like to see you justify it if middle to lower class people start getting fired over similar issues, and than we have families starving on the streets just because the person with the job didn't support gay marriage.

To fire somebody from their job for simply having a certain view is denying rights.

And don't compare LGBTs to African Americans. There's a lot of difference. Homosexuals are not a race for starters.

Are they exactly the same in every possible way? No. Are they comparable? Of course. The liberal progress of human-kind, or at least the United States, has given the gay movement the privilege of not being quite as vehemently resisted as the African American Civil Rights Movement, but in some cases, very close. Nearly all aspects of the black rights struggle can be found in this movement. Similarities include oppression of rights (yes, the ability to marry the person of your choosing is a RIGHT), tactics of protest, violence, discrimination, etc. I would simply consider the gay rights movement slightly less extreme
